Value for money. Great dips, pita bread and Meat!
Also try the "Pork and Prawn" souvlaki. It sounds weird, but it tastes awesome.

Great food, great service, great wine! Gazi has a really fun and vibrant atmosphere, and feels like it's celebrating hearty Greek food that's been fancied up a bit. A great night for with a group, and accommodating of different dietary requirements. Will certainly be coming back!

I love this restaurant and always visit when I am in Melbourne. It is always very busy when we go, and I would recommend booking especially for dinner as they get full quick.

The staff are very friendly and always offer to explain the menu, and offer still or sparkling water. We love to go for the bento boxes for lunch as these are great value - they are like an all in one entree-main-dessert meal. The souva's are also delicious. They can cater for gluten free very well even with the souvalakis.

The only thing to be aware of is the room does get crowded and it does get very loud so it can be hard to have a discussion with more than one person.

Expected more to be honest from this restaurant. Perhaps we went at the wrong time of day (approx 4pm) and the vibe was off, but the staff were more concerned with eating their own lunch than serving lunch to their customers. Food was tasty, portions small. Would have appreciated if the wait staff had explained this to us so we could have ordered more food. Try the chips with fetta cheese :)

The service here is always so friendly, something honestly I was surprised by seeing as it's a celebrity chef's restaurant. All the staff seem genuinely nice to the customers. Everything here is good, I can't recommend just one item. I'm planning to visit again soon and can't wait to fill up on delicious Greek goodness.

Greek food, as you like it - with quality ingredients, in sensible portions, and executed perfectly at a reasonable price!
This place is for those who want to eat good greek food, but do not have access to a greek nonna for take home tuppaware containers to stock up the fridge.
My favourite, is their takeaway souvlaki. I really like the traditional ones, as well as their contemporary variations ie. duck, soft shell crab etc

Gotta love Georgie.. everything he has done has been a bit of a hit with us. Went out for dinner with some UK friends who were visiting and we were not dissappointed! Husband had a bad case of food jealousy because I ordered a lamb cutlet with out him knowing. When it arrived, he lost his mind. 'This wasn't agreed on. I didn't know you were going to order that. Let me try a bit'
'No.'
Sulky look for the next minute.
'Ok, go on.'
'Oh my goooooooood!'
Yes, so, well worth it.

Went here for a family celebration, fabulous, great souvlakis with a great choice of fillings..soft shell crab..duck...roasted beetroot...swordfish...and more, all with different fillings, the bread was hand made, and yummy, a generous serve, easy to handle in a nice little sleeve, a nice range of side dishes of which we sampled a few..the waiter service was excellent..and drinks..a little pricey but also some different ones to try...Overall a great experience, top quality food and excellent service..

I really like the small dishes menu at Gazi. Really great tastes, textures and composition of diverse ingredients to create magical flavours.
I've had:
Queensland Blue Pumpkin ($12.50) served with goats curd and chestnuts. The naturally sweet & buttery soft pumpkin was complemented by the goats curd underneath, with additional greens and crunchy chestnuts sprinkled atop adding extra texture.
Roast Beetroot with pearl barley, peanut hummus and toursi red onion ($11.50). I loved the textural contrast between the soft yet firm & subtly sweet roasted beetroots. The peanut hummus offered a nice base and an extra dimension.
These are just two examples of the menu at Gazi. Greek tapas at a really good price!

My first impression when I arrived here for dinner .... "wow, it's busy and happening". Even at the early hour of 6pm, there were lots of people here, mostly groups, mostly eating and mostly having a great time. I was shown to our table quickly and our waiter offered water. We got the drinks menu, but had to ask for a food menu. The waiter explained that most things on the menu are designed to share. We ordered and tried to chat in the noisy surroundings. Food came - a Horiatiki Village salad (Greek Salad as I know it) and a Beetroot Salad (Roasted Beetroot, pearl barley, peanut hommus, toursi red onion). Both looked messy and no cutlery was provided so we could serve it. We had to take a fork from the next table - but the salads were delicious - too much focus on the feta in the Horiatiki for my preference and not enough other things, but that's just personal preference. The mains were slower to come so we waited - my main was Char-grilled Swordfish with walnut dressing, it came served only with a garnish of lemon. There was a long delay between this arriving any my companion's main being delivered - Chicken with White beans and tyrokafteri; It was massive. We marvelled at this and the waiter suggested we share it, but we were happy to stick with our own orders. Lucky - because a minute or so later the waiter came back with a smaller serve and took the original one away with an apology and saying he'd served a "shared" size by mistake! I'm not sure what he did with the one he took back ... Served it to another table of diners? Wine list is okay. I thought it was nice and very good for a place to catch up with friends. They did come and ask us to leave when our "time was up" at 8pm.

Approximate cost: $25
