We were recommended to go here from our accommodation staff. We were not disappointed. Value for money with a wholesome breakfast. Coffee was great. Service outstanding and all in all would recommend this Cafe to anyone.

The coffee was good but the breakfast ... poached eggs, bacon on sourdough (rock hard) was pretty average by Cafe or hotel standards. This Cafe has basically got rid of all their staff and you order from the table via a QR code which links you to a Web site. If an elderly couple (Non smart phone savvy) sat down they would be bamboozled. Our breakfast cost $50.85 two people bacon and eggs and coffee. They also add an extra cost for Sunday and an extra charge for using Mastercard. If that is good value then hospitality has got problems. Breakfast in Melbourne is more expensive than buying lunch at a pub with a pot of beer.

Well, cant deny that their pastries are nice. But the coffee quality wasnt meet my expectation. Have tried so many time but still...

Under the stone terrace of the GPO you will see little tables & stools, and further along proper tables & chairs for those dining. This is the FCP.
They have a food menu (mostly panninis, pizza and other simple cafe food options).
We stopped to rest our legs, and have a coffee ($4)
The coffee was acceptable, but not great. Service is very absent.
It is a very casual cafe, and this is reflected in the style of the furniture and service provided.
Whilst there was nothing particular in the experience to complain about, there was nothing to commend either.
We left the place quite underwhelmed. It is a shame, given the potential of the surrounds and atmosphere of the GPO.
