I reviewed the hospital on Google.
I was amazed at what they do with so few resources. They sorted. My husband and I out with our maladies and followed up with referrals .
We both went in on two separate days this week.
We cannot speak more highly of Fairfield Hospital

went in for day surgery and all the nurses and staff were very friendly and helpful.however the hand clinic can get very very busy as people come from all different areas to attend the hand clinic.

For me, there are pros & cons about this hospital. I was admitted for 10 days, and there were just a few things that bugged me.

The cons -
1) Not being able to get assistance within a reasonable timeframe. I was bed bound and waited more than an hour for help from a nurse. So this may be a need for more staff rather than bad nurses.
2) Not being able to understand the doctors because of thick accents. It wouldn't have been an issue but they were too impatient to explain themselves so I could understand.
3) I left the hospital having no idea how to care for my condition or new diet.
4) I was woken at 4am one night to a man inserting a needle into my hand (the ones that they use with those bags that drip medicine into you). The problem was I already had one in my arm, and in the morning a nurse told me that they had no idea who this man was, or why he did it, and that I didn't need it.

The pros - the nurses and their trainees were very polite and nice. I got my surgery done with no complications. Everything seemed very clean.

A random guy inserting needles in your arm? Very creepy. Don't they read your medical charts by the bed?

Had all 3 of my children here and they were wonderful each time from the start of the pregnancies to the end. With my 3 child being an emergency due to my son being in distress the staff were quick to help. With numerous trips to the er also had reasonable service.

When my son was admitted over the weekend last yr due to complications with his breathing, the care and service we received here has been nothing short of amazing! The Doctors and Nurses assessed him straight away in triage and admitted him to a bed where he was constantly monitored and attended to with great nurses!

Both my children were born in this hospital too and fortunately for us it's only 5 minutes from home , and over the years we have been to Emergency for numerous things and have visited many friends and family here for the births of their children!

The Doctors and Nurses do seem rushed alot and in short supply, but that is expected being a hospital and if your admitted to emergency, but the care you receive is invaluable!

Will always be thankful for the Doctors and Nurses who took wonderful care of my son when he was admitted!

Good small hospital. Friendly staff but severely underresourced. Doctors and nurses are overworked and underpaid. Waiting time in ED is pretty long but it's an ok hospital all things considered

I recently had the pleasure of being admitted into Fairfield Hospital due to a problem with my Diabetes. The nurses and doctors were wonderful, friendly and kind. They admitted me to a ward for 2 days and got my Diabetes back under control.
