Eveleigh Markets is one of my favourite markets in Sydney. They sell a huge range of fresh good quality produce such as fruit, vegetables, dairy products, flowers, sweets, bread and more. I suggest driving there, there is street parking available.

I've been here twice so far & every time I go with a full wallet that empties very, very quickly! Everything is just so tempting.

Produce ranges from flowers & herbs - wine - meat - cheeses - free range eggs - sweets - bread - cakes & take-away hot foods from Tony Bilson & Kylie Kwong.

One thing I'm not keen on is dogs within range of food items - not hygienic, however it is surprising how cute some dogs are especially if you have the chance to give them a pat.

Parking is a nightmare. There is a shuttle bus that departs from technology park (near Redfern stn) or you can walk from City Rd.

Prepare to spend $$$. Nothing is a bargain & to be honest I think some prices are beyond reality, especially if the produce is not organic /free-range.

Approximate cost: $4 - $30

Farmers Markets fluctuate with quantity and quality. We do not like this in the natural because we cannot access what we want. I like organic eggs and the supplier from Orange laid off all his chooks and began again with a new lot which take time to produce again so in July I am expecting to see EGGANICS at the markets after a few months off. I go every second week right on 8am and even at that time the parking is horrible. I suggest a walk or a drop off by some patient soul. Consistency of quality and supply are important as is new foods given out by creative exceptional passionate people and I find after some years that this market keeps this pattern for me. Hot home made sausage rolls or some meats that have been flavoursomely smoked and a little special sourdough by the young man who is wanting to take his trade and gift places. A nice way to share a sat lunch with such fare. We are indeed a blessed country to have such food at our fingertips even in the city. Great place to take your children and introduce them to the world of FRESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's great, and has just won an award for best growers market. Great food and produce from local producers and direct from the growers who love to explain their products and how to cook them etc.
Also has great flowers at a good price
