Est is a stunning dining experience in Sydney. Set upstairs from the Establishment, the interior is beautifully elegant with high ceilings, regal columns and chandeliers, its the perfect setting for a special occasion.

The restaurant offers a degustation for $185pp, or a chef's menu with set prices based on number of courses. We opted for 3 courses at $135.

For entree I had the scallops, steamed murray cod for main, and valrhona chocolate pave for dessert (although I wish I got the passionfruit souffle which I tried and loved!) All three course were delivered with exceptional service, one waiter for each dish coming out so that every plate was placed on the table at the same time.

All dishes were a refined an elegant combination of flavours and very pleasant. I will be brutally honest I wasn't blown away (as I like to be with a fine dining experience) however the overall experience was really lovely and I would recommend this restaurant.

What a fantastic dining experience. I went here for lunch last week with 2 friends and this place is everything you think of when you think fine dining, small perfectly formed and presented meals. When they serve you your food, they serve each person at the same time, so we had 3 waiters stand next to us and put the plates down at the same time. It isn't crowded at all, so plenty of room and they make you feel so special. It is very expensive, but I knew it would be and it is because it is an entire dining experience. They have a lovely lady that matches wines for you, they serve you differnt types of bread constantly (probably because portions are so small). I love these places because you would never make these meals at home. I watch a lot of those cooking shows like Master Chef and Top Chef and this is what they aspire to. Definately recommend for a very special occassion. There is even a lady that meets you on the ground floor to press the button on the lift and then the same when you go home. Wow, a fantastic experience.

The more you pay the smaller the serve or the less you get. Or is it good things come in small packages? Anyway sounds pretty good!

Head chef Peter Doyle and his 3 other chefs are responsible for making this restaurant so popular. The food is fantastic in a fine dining atmosphere. I had steamed coral trout fillet, shaved abalone, snow peas, black fungi with a ginger – green shallot vinaigrette 55 - delicious. The service is excellent. I might try the degustation menu next time.

Expensive but worth every penny, we had the degustation menu with matching wines. Each of the wines matched the dishes perfectly and everything was cooked to perfection. The flavours were amazing and the service was second to none, the maitre d even showed around the levels of the building to some of the other restuarants and bars after we had finished. It was a lovely experience.

Went with friends and had the degustation menu. While the food was tasty the portions were tiny - no comparison to other. Will go back to try a la carte menu though since the service was good and the atmosphere friendly.
