Stopped by for lunch with a friend as she had been wanting to try this place.

We enjoyed the meal and particularly the dessert (I, having an insatiable sweet tooth) of baklava (very flaky and not at all soggy, despite being richly sweet). Service was friendly. I'll have to go back to ask what tea I was served, it was unusual and delicious, though I didn't catch what kind it was.

Had lunch here recently with a friend. It was an odd but mostly enjoyable experience. The restaurant has been open for several months yet still no liquor license. Really would have loved a glass of wine with my food. The waiter was insistent on us ordering our mains, desserts and choice of apple tea or Turkish coffee all at once. He didn't seem to understand that we'd prefer to order our desserts and tea/coffee after eating.

The ambience is ok but I imagine at night it'd be better with more interesting lighting and so on.

Now the food. We totally enjoyed the food as it was all fresh, great quality and very tasty. We had the lamb pide (excellent although smaller than I'd expected), cheese pastries and a chicken shish. I thought the single chicken shish was a bit small as a serving but it was tasty and the rice and salad were delicious too.

I have an issue with restaurants serving post-mix soft drinks. With no alcohol available, I had to order a Coke Zero which was served in a tall glass. It was a bit flat and unappealing and I really think Brisbane should have grown up enough by now to offer soft drinks by the bottle. Post-mix should be reserved for fast food restaurants.

The salad dressing was awesome and the apple tea was superb. We also had the baklava which I don't usually like but which was very pleasant, and Turkish delight which also hit the spot nicely.

Meal presentation was excellent throughout. The service was, as I said earlier, a bit odd, but the quality of food compensated nicely.

I'd definitely go back (hopefully when the wine is flowing!) and would recommend it to others.

Approximate cost: $20

Had lunch here recently on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by the tantalising smoky aromas coming from the kitchen when being seated. It seems to be a very new business and the staff are friendly (and most likely Turkish) so you know you're getting the real deal. I recommend the Turkish bread and dips for entree (great baba ghanoush and hommus) I also had the lamb shish with salad and rice which was generous and delicious while my husband had the Turkish pide which he thought could've been bigger for the price. Decor is modern and comfortable though the parking is a bit of an issue so a quick walk down the street is in order. Upon hearing that it was our wedding anniversary, our kind host generously gave us a gift to go (syrupy yet flaky baklava and a sample of Turkish Delight) which was delectable. An enjoyable meal and I hope to return again soon with more time up our sleeves to linger with coffee and dessert.

Approximate cost: $17

Thanks for telling us about this restaurant. I may just try it some time, as I have a soft spot for Middle Eastern food (lived there before for a while). The staff sound really friendly too.

Coincidentally, after reading your review, Efendi's were running a deal so I'll be checking them out myself soon! Your recommendation makes it sound very tempting!
