Him: "I suggest you see pain psych & pain physio & learn bout the science of pain."
Me: I was a PT when my pain started getting worse, more active than most. I also started with pain psych & specialist pain physio a decade ago (the very first thing we tried!), & I'm here cause I can't cope with the pain anymore.
My pain Specialist also spent the decade teaching me the science of pain, Being a research scientist was first thing i did. Even started a pain group where we had specialists come do hour-long seminar on science of pain.
i can't work, have a relationship or even leisure activities anymore & I'm trapped in my bed by the pain.
Him: "Well medicine can't help everyone."
Me: [*in shock...*]
Me: So if you can't help could you refer or suggest someone else."
Him: See a Pain Specialist."
Me: I've been seeing the best in the state for a decade, I'm here cause that's NOT working."
Him:..... [* just shrugging*]

Me: ok bye

It's one thing to think he can't help. I've had that from so many drs before I got my hEDS diagnosis. It was the patronising, smug condescension that I'm still in shock from. He was that bad in the initial appt & even worse after the mri. The reductive & dismissive way he spoke... no Dr should be allowed to practice like that!! He's by FAR the worst Specialist I've ever seen. And I've seen many of them cause my eds diagnosis came late, most couldn't help but didn't make me feel so pathetic & worthless.

I would never recommend Dr Paul Taylor. I had an appointment on the 28 November 2023 which I saw him in his office. I had nothing explained about my back, that's after a MRI, Bone scan in the lower back, full body X-ray, I need a medical procedure and that was all he repeated. I said " if it is anything like my last procedure with Dr Kent ( 4 cortisone injections, 2 nerves cut in lower back. ) No chance, the side effects and pain was severe." That's what I repeated. He went onto say " it seems you have a problem ( well he has not explained anything to me, about the bone scan, MRI and full body X-ray I was getting annoyed ) he mentioned Dr Kent , Dr Tang, and himself, do you see a pattern here . Well, that was it , I asked for my report and left, shaken, frustrated, and confused.
Now I have had him ring me yesterday, he threatened me with solicitors and taking every cent I get, ordering, demanding me to take down my post with the Neurospine Institute. 2. He will contact me on the 20 January 2024 to sort out any issues. It has been almost a month with no report with anything mentioning me. I had to talk over him as he would not let me get a word in. Dr Paul Taylor is affecting alot of patients with his attitude. Dr Paul Taylor needs to be investigated for Lack of RESPONSIBILITY, DUTY Of CARE.

I had a full spinal fusion 2 years ago, after struggling my whole life with Scoliosis.
I was 52 and this man is a God, he has given me my life back, i will always be grateful.
I highly recommend him and his staff. Thank you Paul Taylor

I have just recently had spinal surgery by Mr Taylor. As far as i am concerned this man is like a god to me. After a fall at my local shops I was left with permanent pins and needles down my right arm, after doing a bit of looking around online i came across Mr Taylor and after reading his web page, asked my GP for a referral. I would recommend Mr Taylor to anyone that has issues relating to his area of expertise you will not regret it. I have never met a nicer man and cannot thank him and his staff enough for giving me back my life.
