I have been with Michael Schui for over 10 years now. Ok he is a bit abrupt but I keep going back to him as I have the utmost confidence in him. He is brilliant in his knowledge and skills.

I was referred to Glaucoma specialist Mr Shiu after other investigations into my vision indicated eye pressure problems and the possibility I may have Glaucoma. My initial consultation with Mr Shiu was not ideal as I thought he was quite arrogant and appeared abrupt. I cannot rely on my impression as he informed me that I had, in fact, advanced Glaucoma, so my reaction to this news left me with negative feelings about my appointment with him.
On a follow-up appointment, I was quite happy with the encounter, and also quite impressed with his expertise and how he is managing my case. Perhaps he doesn't score 10 points in people skills, but he certainly knows what he is talking about.
As with other medical specialists, be sure to ask lots of questions, as getting the answers you need won't happen unless you ask.
Hi Tamxir,
I know exactly what you mean. I met with Michael a few months ago as my child has a cataract and left feeling a little like he missed 'how to treat worried patients' classes! I take faith reading that his expertise is where it matters and not his bedside manner. I am still a little apprehensive about our next visit as it will probably be to book surgery and hope it goes better than the first. Your post gave me hope! Many thanks.
