Excellent service, and pleased with product.I needed a good epoxy glue for renovating my boat, and that's exactly what I got
I recently was looking to purchase resin for my art/craft projects and found these suppliers, price wise its definitely great, delivery was super fast.Great doing business ,highly recommend them.
Absolutely great friendly customer service and fast delivery. The latex product is really good and very successful for my use. I strongly recommend this company.
Such a great company to deal with.
The resin I ordered arrived in record time and is perfect for my projects.
Will highly recommend DIY Composites to my friends and family and will be ordering from them again.
Thanks so much! :D
They posted my resin out at record speed and where at a very competitive price.
highly recommend these guys.
Thank you!
I purchased the 1Lt Clear EPOXY Pouring Gloss, Table Top Coating, UV Stabilised. Arts & Craft . This product is fantastic for my hobbies and repairs, I use it instead of polyester resin because I cant stand the smell of polyester resin, this product has virtually no smell at all, and when used with fiberglass mesh it becomes extremely strong and durable. Hardware stores like Bunnings and Mitre 10 are completely useless when it comes to buying any resins in large amounts, so I am grateful to "DIY Composites" for enabling me to access such products. Recommended.

Thank you!
I use this company and their products for my woodworking (as a finish coating for lustre and strength) and for making molds for fibreglassing, including slot car bodies (a tricky job at best), and have always enjoyed the best pricing, a quality product, and very fast postage. The finish I get is exceptional; work time is good and can be rapidly set with application of light heat (duration, temperature and method of heat application depending on the job size and other components utilised). Have not had a problem (well, possibly at first with my own learning curve) with DIY Composites at all, so thank you guys, will order again soon! Alan.
Wish I had seen this prior to purchasing, I too decided to give this company a second chance when my first experience was abysmal. Thinking I had done something wrong in the measuring and mixing so started to rule out each possible scenario with each pour and can only conclude the resin is at fault as even a clear pour on a sealed mdf surface produced the same result.
I have been creating resin art for 3 years and never had an issue with a product like this one, the ambient temps were correct there was no humidity issues or water contamination I have a purpose built workroom for this so the environment was not a factor and neither was the mixing or measuring. Crazing and film runs from epoxy specific pigments on cure were horrendous.
I also have noticed (after buying this product) other artists that have used and posted pics on social media seem to be ok with the crazing because it can be seen as plain as day but when I purchase resin I expect it to perform.
Definitely would not recommend for Resin Art or the coating of paintings, etc where a glass finish is required.
What I will say is the service was great, delivery was super fast but badly let down by product performance. Product was Epoxy Clear 2:1
Approximate cost: $160
Based on my initial outcome I can't say I would recommend this resin for artwork. So far I have used it to coat 12 paintings (3 were already sold) and it did nothing but end up looking like crazy paving. Emailed the company who were helpful by telling me I hadn't mixed it properly??? Have used other resins with complete success but ok.. ordered 12 more litres for another crack. Recoated 3 of the last lot to try to fix on manufacturers suggestion plus 3 new paintings (1 presold). Looked great wet, 7 hours later all look like crazy paving again. VERY frustrated, have deadlines of 1 week for a market sale and 12 litres of resin that won't perform so far. Emailed company tonight, waiting for reply. May call them tomorrow too as a followup for a possible solution. Am very disappointed in the performance as their prices are cheap, service has been good, communication prompt and delivery fast.
Approximate cost: $310
Hi, no no no to the person who replied (comment not showing on here at the moment), don't ever add water to resin, they are not friends at all. I used this to coat an acrylic fluid painting which was completely dry. And you can't add more than 10% ink or paint to color it or it will not cure well. As a clear coat it SHOULD work fine...
DIY Composites have a few products and you did not say which resin you used (Epoxy, polyester, vinyleser??). You also said you used it to coat paintings??? As in flexible canvas? Well of course epoxy resin does not stick to acrylic without sanding first, also standard polyester and epoxy are very hard resins that do not flex a great deal, so I am not surprised at the result. I believe that vinylester sticks better and is more flexible. Perhaps next time you should first do a bit of research beforehand or ask for assistance in choosing the correct product for your application, instead of blaming the product (whichever product that was, 'this resin'does not really narrow it down a lot)
Have purchased this resin before but when I reordered, it is not the same, much thinner. It didn't drip as much(I am doing resin art) but it has fractured like crazy paving right in the centre of my picture. If it was the weather ,why didn't the outside area do the same.I did as even a poor as I could.used a level. My painting is 90cm round,so re-resining to try to fix it.Hope it works.
Next coat did cover most of the problem. I have measured it exactly but still have a few bits that are showing problems. It is cheaper to purchase but having to do double coats makes it heavier & not so cost effective.
I would like to send a warning to anyone using this for art resin.I mixed some pebeo inks for colour, that worked. But tried acrylic paint also.Straight paint worked, mixed with pouring medium works but DO NOT reduce the paint with water ,the chemical reaction causes it to heat up so much it became lumpy & erupted like a volcano & melted the plastic container holding it.Just be careful what you put with this resin.
In reply to jack-j-smith 152, this was indeed epoxy resin, and possibly need to ask me first before jumping to conclusions? I did indeed ask which resin they recommended first and ordered accordingly. No I am not using canvas, but mdf boards, although I have used canvas successfully too. There is no need to sand acrylic prior to coating with epoxy, although I do seal it first...with an acrylic sealer. I have indeed done a lot of research on this and have successfully used other epoxy resins with great success. All except for this one. This is not the first time I have done this process and am well versed in how to apply it successfully. Unfortunately this particular product failed on every occasion. The product I purchased following this fixed every single piece in only one coat when 4 and 5 coats of this could not. Hence I believe on this occasion I am entitled to blame the product. Thanks for the input. Perhaps you should research the art of resin art and coating acrylic paintings?
