Both my mother and I have self-managed super funds with Dixon Advisory and their service and advice has always been exceptional. They were particularly helpful during the difficult period following my father's passing, when a number of decisions had to be made regarding my Mum's financial future - Dixon Advisory's service has been invaluable in ensuring our family's financial stability.

Dixon Advisory have set up a self managed super fund for me. As an older working woman without any knowledge of shares etc I have really appreciated the way my account manager takes the time to explain things to me in such a clear way.

Taking my savings out of term deposits and starting to salary sacrifice into a self managed super fund with Dixon Advisory was a big decision for me to make and I wish now I had started much earlier with them.

Very professional and helpful staff. Provide very good and balanced advice and have a very straight forward fee for service approach. Have also created a number of great investment products to help me diversify my portfolio in resources/commodities and corporate bonds.

I started a self-managed super fund and at first decided I would manage it myself. Fortunately I became aware of Dixon Advisory. The service is excellent for all facets of managing my fund, including setting out the trust deed, auditing the fund and submitting the tax return. Each person is assigned an account manager whom they can contact by phone if need be. For the whole service, the cost is very reasonable, but you do need a medium to large super fund to make the cost worthwhile.

Not my experience. The staff we dealt with were generally young and very inexperienced. We had share orders that were not executed and unauthorised movements in our accounts. We went to a real accountant and made a saving of about 50% as well as getting better advice. It was very difficult to be shot of them and they will not provide our records without significant extra costs.

Since my initial comment, I have left Dixon Advisory. The reason was that I was using Commsec to place my orders and wanted to stay with this online broker for cheaper trades. Dixon Advisory wanted their clients to switch to a full service broker (Macquarie, I think) to rationalise their accounting systems. My advisor at Dixons passed on all my records to my new accountant without any problems. Occasionally, one of my unlisted equity firms sends mail to Dixons as I neglected to change my address. Dixons post it on to me, with a cordial note.

The owner managers of Dixon Advisory know how to get the maximum fees from clients. Clients' needs are secondary to managers' recouping their losses from the failed Lift Capital fiasco. They only use new graduates and young inexperienced advisors who are slow to answer the phone and sound very amateurish. No confidence.
