I have a champion pedigree papillon. I moved to Newcastle from Melbourne and decided to try Diva dogs as I didn’t know where else to start with a groomer. I initially took my dog in with clear instructions for a trim, scissor clip, and when I collected her, although there were odd stray hairs, she looked fine...as she should.
Ten weeks later I rang and spoke to Kerry to make same booking. Gave for instructions and she had Penni on computer and I said I want the same but a little off her ears. As I am dying from cancer now, I was not well enough to take her in so my daughter copied down clear instructions last night and confirmed with Kerry this morning.
My papillon has just been collected and to our shock ...horror...has been cut down like a poodle! All her beautiful, glamorous coat is gone. Just left with a tail and ears! It’s cold at present and dog will now need to wear a coat! She’s only tiny.
I rang Kerry to ask why she did this and how this could happen and she blamed my daughter, saying she said to cut it short! I’ve had papillons for years and my daughter would never ask for that. Kerry then proceeded to tell me to go somewhere else and hung up the phone on me. Unbelievable really, from a professional point of view to treat a client like that. So I called her back, she should be accountable as she said when I made the booking that my dog was in her system and I confirmed I wanted the same trim as before. She said if I wasn’t happy with what was done, I could go somewhere else. My beautiful, elegant papillon now is cut short like a poodle. This is bad enough but to speak to me in such a manner and slam the phone down on me? My recommendation would be never go near this business...ever, very nasty, unprofessional service. Obviously no idea as to what they’re doing when it comes to champion dog clips.

My dog Oliver has never looked so good. Kerrie is amazing with the dogs and Oliver is always happy to go for daycare and a bath. The price is terrific and the service is always with a smile.

This salon is fantastic. The dogs there always seem happy and relaxed and mine always comes away tuckered out from socialising and playing all day. My dog is always beautifully groomed plus they clean her ears and clip her nails for me too. The people there adore the dogs and most importantly my baby loves going there. That's top notch value in my books!

We have found Diva Dogs to be exceptionally professional and friendly. Our two year old Bichon Frise has regular “play” days at Diva to socialise with other dogs. He enjoys both these and his grooming days and has always run himself ragged by the time we pick him up. The standard of grooming is excellent and Kerrie is always able to offer advice regarding style and grooming and does great artistic work. You only need to see the dogs at Diva to understand what wonderful care and attention they get.

I wouldn't send my dog anywhere else in Newcastle. The staff at Diva Dog are true dog lovers and so professional in their services. My dog comes away happy every time he goes and that is what is most important. Plus his haircuts and washes are gorgeous and done with the most care and professionalism!!!!
