We requested a measure and quote and were ready to proceed quickly with the job, as we just moved in to our new house and have a newborn baby. Needing to get our wardrobes in order quickly, we contacted this company as they are only one street away from us! They did the measure and we were told we would receive the modelling and quote through by the next day. One month later we have not heard from them and they have not returned numerous phone calls and emails. Terrible service and completely unprofessional. We would have absolutely been fine if they advised they did not want our work, however simply not returning calls or emails is terrible service. We strongly recommend not to bother with this very poor business.

We saw five highly reputable wardrobe companies in Sydney and none could match the competitive price and high-quality product of Design A Robe.
Our three built-in wardrobes are perfect and the furniture we had made up is spot on. We are indeed very impressed with the craftsmanship and installation delivered by Design A Robes.
Our Sales Manager, Elias was very professional, thorough, honest and accommodating. I would certainly only ever use Design A Robes in the future and have recommended Design A Robes to friends and family. Congratulations Design A Robes - you've gained another satisfied customer.

We had a great experience With Design a robe they installed our walk in wardrobe and 3 built ins in kids bedroom, salesman Ronnie was very helpfull and creative he helped us to design and chose colours to meet our requirements and needs, price wasn't too cheap according to other quotes but it was worth paying every cent. Job was installed in a very professional manner by Bob And Damien. We strongly recommend Designarobe if you are looking for something worth paying for.

Our recent experience with Design A Robe was pleasant, although previous reviews had different ratings. Found them on WOMO and contacted the company. They responded very quickly. Elie came to measure the actual twice to ensure accuracy. We also changed the design several times. Elie was always very patient and provided revised quote promptly. When the old buildin were taken out, they found some problems in the structure and was not as simple as we thought. But nothing was too difficult, and Elie had to re measure the whole thing again. From confirmed order to production in factory only took 1 week. They were able to install all 3 new wardrobes 1 week before Xmas. The installers were efficient too. For us it was perfect timing and great end product. Although the price is higher than some other providers, I still highly recommend them for great quality, professionalism and short turn around time.

In May 2012 I had a new kitchen pantry unit, and cupboard above my fridge put in. The job only took about a week from quote to installation which I was impressed with.

Once installed, they used the wrong handles. I had specifically asked the guy who did the quote (I'm not supposed to use their names here) to use matching handles to my existing kitchen. He said that was the same ones that they always use, so no problem. The installer showed up with different ones and then the fights began. Oh, the installer also put the cabinet above the fridge in very crooked so that from the side you could see unfinished particle board. They (DesignARobe) would not take responsibility for the mix-up, even though the quoter told me the installer put in the wrong handles. The quoter finally inspected the job, agreed to fix the crooked cabinet and to change the handles. After one month they did say they'd send out the installer, but he never showed up (no phone call either). About three days later he did show up. He replaced the wrong handles with ones that looked similar to my existing kitchen handles but were only 30% of the size as he used the existing holes they drilled. The installer removed the cabinet above the fridge and tried to re-install it. During re-installation he cracked the side of it, and still put it in crooked. He ran out of time and didn't put the finishing boards on it so that it looked way worse than when he started.

I immediately reported this to the office and the owner (minority owner I found out) stuck to his guns and told me the job was complete. After hanging up he decided to charge my credit card for the complete amount and sent an SMS me saying the job was complete. I assume he wrote down and kept my credit card number when I paid the deposit. I told him it was illegal to charge someone without authorisation, and either he had to refund the amount in full or I would dispute it with the credit card company. After he argued a while and tried to make me pay most of it, he finally refunded the charge.

He agreed to come out and meet me at 7:30am on Saturday to see the job for himself. At 8am on Saturday I phoned him asking where he was. He said he had changed his mind and would send the quoter later that morning. I was mad he stood me up (again) without phoning me, and convinced him to come. At about 9am both him and the quoter finally arrived. It took an hour of arguing with them. They told me many times they would sue me if I don't pay in full and the owner took photos of my pantry with the wrong handles. He said even though I only had a few items stored in it, the photos would prove in court that I was using them and he would get the full amount for the job. Finally I broke down and agreed to pay an extra $60 to change the handles on the three biggest doors and live with the rest of the handles, in exchange for them changing the three handles and fixing and finishing the crooked cabinet.

On the third round of fixing they did a crappy (but just barely acceptable) job of fixing the crooked cabinets and replaced the three handles with large ones. The previously crooked cabinet was now straight, but wasn't centered properly and they left large screw holes and chipped paint in the surrounding wall.

I paid them in full and am glad to see the back-side of them for the last time. My best retaliation is to write this account so that others can decide for themselves if they really want to do business with DesignARobe.

The quality is okay for the parts they did right, but if they screw anything up, good luck getting it fixed! It took me a lot of effort and about two months and still I'm happy.

Had a few quotes for the job, and designarobe were very reasonably priced for the amount of work we had done. We had floor to ceiling robes (2700 ceilings) in two bedrooms with a built in desk in one of the rooms that returned along a wall for 2 metres. Also a dark gloss entertainment unit that was 3.5mtrs long with 4 drawers and 2 doors for home theatre equipment each side.

The job did not go according to plan with a couple of things not relayed from the salesman to the factory, but the installers and the factory worked very hard to rectify to our standards and in the end finished the job to a great standard. I've always found that a company that makes sure that the end product is as good as you expect when things don't go according to plan are the best to deal with. This is the case with Designarobe.

I would recommend them highly and if you are looking at some of the dearer wardrobe places ($9k+ per wardrobe) these guys do a job nearly as good, but at a far better price. we got 2 walls of wardrobe , with 2 metres of bench top for a desk that returned around a wall, walls were 4mtrs wide and 2.7 high, and a 3.5 mtr entertainment unit beautifully finished and made to a custom size with a very modern design from a magazine (custom size draws and custom sized doors), all in poly, soft closes, flush handled drawers, so a very large job, for $5k less than another (quality custom) place quoted us for just two wardrobes.

make sure that you relay all your details, and any special needs, or installation problems, or anything out of the ordinary to the factory as soon as your order has gone in, email is great  sadly can't be sure that these details have made it from the salesman to the factory, but if you do this bit of follow up, they really do a great job at a great price.

They communicated what was happening well, and always turned up or called when they said they would.

They were a great company to deal with who just have a few internal communication issues. I'd be happy to recommend them to a friend.

Approximate cost: $13k

they custom made my build-in wardrobe with aluminum frame and sliding mirror door, though they don't do frame-less sliding doors. The tradesman comes on time. Very happy with it.
