4 reviews about Delicious Chinese Restaurant

When we arrived we were promptly seated and a staff member took our drink orders while we browsed over the menus. When our waitress came back with the drinks she took our food orders and helped us to work out how much food we would need for our table.

The jug of softdrink that we ordered was $9 and gave us about 5 1/2 glasses of drink. After we had finished the jug a couple of us decided to order an additional glass of softdrink costing $3 each and so were expecting a larger sized glass however the drinks were served in the same small glasses.

The meals were brought out to the table about 10 minutes later. All meals arrived at the same time. Each of the meals were of a generous size.

The fried rice was fine, as was the chicken and vegetables, and the honey chicken dish that we ordered. The pork in plum sauce was disappointing - the pork was quite dry and not very hot, only warm. The beef and vegetables were ok but tasted a bit bland, there wasn't as much flavour as the other dishes. Also, I felt that there weren't as many vegetables included with the dishes compared to other Chinese restaurants that I have eaten at.

The staff were friendly enough and the food was ok but I expected a higher quality for the price that we paid.

Approximate cost: $18.50

Hi Michelleh32, many thanks for such a concise, well written review. The price you paid for the soft drink appears to be somewhat over-the-top but I guess this occurs in many establishments these days. Thanks for the heads-up! Reeces

The food is delicious and I think it's priced well, but the staff can be quite rude sometimes, if you order take away the service is fast but if you eat in it takes a while to get your food and it all comes at different times. The lunch special is a good price, the beef and black Bean is excellent.

The entre came out really quickly but then the main meals took ages and when they did come out they came at different times some had almost finished their main before others had even got theirs

Approximate cost: $35

Use to love coming here, but now I think there is definite room for improvement!

Meal sizes have gotten smaller over the years, service can sometimes be poor, no longer do you get the warm towels at the end of your meal, or offered tea and coffee. Corkage use to include beer and wine, now only wine. Some of the staff are quite friendly, some are just plain rude!
Last time I went with 4 other people and we had one of the Banquets. At $26 per person, it seems like a fairly good price for a 3 course meal. Once the food comes though, you figure that it probably would have been cheaper to order several different dishes and just split the bill.

It's still a nice place to go with a big group, because of the round tables with the lazy susan's in the middle. And with BYO (only wine) that is also a plus!

Approximate cost: $20

Hi Eillek, thanks for such a well written, concise review. It is often the little things that make all the difference and it appears the service component has slipped somewhat which is disappointing. After all, warm towels, corkage, the provision of beverages and good old fashioned customer service cost very little, but can indeed make all the difference. Appreciated the heads-up! Reeces
