We went to try the all you can eat yum cha today (Sunday) for the 1.30 - 3 pm session. It's $35 per head not including drinks. Waiters will bring selections of food for you to choose. Overall, the food was pretty good but the taste is different from traditional Chinese yum cha that you get from traditional Chinese restaurant. I believe this is more catered for Australian taste. The tea they use is good quality one. The decor is nice as well. Cons: it's the first yum cha I've been that offers no shu mai (they have them on a la carte menu) and no mango pudding.

Went on a Saturday morning and was informed they only had buffet. We were a bit disappointed as we wanted to try their a-la-carte menu. However, there was an excellent variety of food available, a lot to choose from - various kinds of steamed dumplings in both Cantonese and Shanghainese styles, various kinds of Shanghai-style appetisers including prawns, cold vegetables, and other meats. The desserts were definitely the highlight - yummy, and a great variety as well. The best one in my opinion would have to be the custard bun or the dark chocolate pralines.

For $35 per head with so much food to choose from, it was a nice experience. Restaurant itself was modern, with a lot of thought put into the decor - even the bathroom sink was different, and pretty special. It's located very conveniently, with parking available nearby.

I'd go again but probably in the evening, to try their a la carte menu.

This restaurant experience was extraordinary - much better than I expected. The decor itself was pretty impressive and when we sat our serviettes were put onto our laps for us. Service was very attentive, just short of over attentive. when dishes were brought to the table we were asked if the waiters could serve, which was done very artistically.
The menu also had some very unusual dishes available than many restaurants. Although we did not love every dish, they were all interesting.
When the dessert menu came, we ordered the white chocolate dumplings and the chocolate chestnuts, and I could eat those every day (I am a chocoholic). I thought both were unusual and delicious.
I'll definitely be going back even if only for tea (of which they have about 20 to choose from) and dessert!

Went for Saturday lunch. Tasteful and modern decor, vast improvement on your average chinese restaurant. Service was impeccable, though there weren't many other diners to juggle. Food tasted okay, and was nicely presented. Found the calamari too heavily battered and oily. The almond cake was pleasant, and it was nice to have options other than the usual fritters on the dessert menu. We had the set-price lunch banquet, which was reasonably priced considering the ambience, service, and food quality.

Wow, I've had very different experiences of this place compared to the first reviewer.

We've eaten here many times and always found the food to be outstanding. Sunday Yum Cha is especially good because of the different dishes they offer - the chilli green beans are one of the best Yum Cha dishes I've ever tasted.

I do agree that the service isn't the best - not very attentive or friendly and getting another drink ordered can be a bit of a wait but for us the food outweighs all this.

I also agree that the duck is a little underwhelming for something they tout as their specialty.

Overall we love it and keep coming back

Based on the website, Age food guide reviews, and impressive interior I was expecting a first class fine dining experience in Chinese cuisine. I particularly sought this restaurant to impress relatives from interstate. Unfortunately, I was left with Chinese egg on my face (pun intended). The food was bland, and basic. The price was definitely excessive for the quantity, and the quality didn't warrant fine dining portions. The duck and pancakes - meant to be one of their delicacies and signature dishes - was dry and tastless. The service was woeful. We waited about an hour between entre and main on a relatively sedate friday night. Everything was ho hum. I;ve had better in dingy joint in China town on little bourke. This David character obviously doesn't have anything to do with the taste testing or quality control. Considering the amount of excessive alcohol we drunk the food shouldve tasted a lot lot better.
