Avoid - Unless you like drama and poor communication
I approached D&C Patios for a quote in early October. Up until they took my deposit, the service was good and I remember even telling them that. I fell for the old " order it now and you should have it before XMas" spiel, my bad. It's now installed in early February. There were a list of bumps in the road that any potential customer should be aware of. I'll try to keep this factual.

On several occasions, the quote was altered by the company, as they hadn't explained the pulling down of the old patio isn't included, the lights and fan wasn't included etc. However, they kept the same invoice number on each contract, and they ended up confusing themselves. They claimed later that the pricing didn't include those things, even thought it was already done. As the patio was planned to go 90cms within the property's boundary, there's apparently an extra cost to get the planned approved through council. This was left off the contract, but they asked for $750.00 extra to cover their cost. When I queried this, they said, OH Sorry, yes it's only $450.00. We were told that we needed to be at home to accept the delivery of the materials, days before the installation. We were then told they would come in two separate days, and when I asked if I had to be home, they said, no you don't???

We were told the "tentative date" of the installation and that we'd receive an email the day before to confirm. I arranged to take the day off work, and my, bad, of course, they didn't turn up, as the date was only "tentative, and no email was received". Then calling them to ask when will it be now, they said, "oh, definitely this week, ( I mentioned that I need more than 1 day's notice to arrange time off work ) but I'll get the manager to call you as soon as she's out of her meeting". The phone call never came, and the week went by.
The following week, Monday morning, the installers turn up, unannounced, no notice of an email or phone call. I happened to be working from home, but I changed my meetings for the day, as the fellas kindly asked if they could start, and they were sorry, but this has happened plenty of times before.

When pulling down the old patio, I was asked, "What are you doing with the old facia?" Apparently, this company either doesn't offer to replace the old facia, or just doesn't do it by default. Be warned, as this is a trap, as it's a tedious process to remove old silicone and then have to measure, order and install new facia. When I quizzed them, asking "would you be happy with the old facia showing" , they have flat out explained that they don't quote to replace the facia.

Let me make it clear, the installers were good, the product as this stage is good.

Would I use them again, absolutely not. Be warned as I don't believe this was personal against us, it's just the customer service standard they provide.

I gave 2 stars and not 1, as the product for now, is fine.

My brother and sister in-law are getting a patio done, and were waiting to see how ours played out, before asking for a quote. They won't be bothering with D & C Patios.
