We visited for just an overnight stay to break up a road trip, mum dad and 9 month old baby. When we booked in, we said that we had baby with us but that we had our own portacot; they then said that they still had to charge for an extra person. (extra $15-30, I can't recall exactly - I think $30). I was a bit shocked and said - but she'll be staying in the port a cot, and the guy replied that it's law for hotels that they have to record how many people are staying in each room and the only way to do that was to charge for each person.

Really? Then all the other hotels we've stayed at with bubs and haven't charged us are obviously all going to be in big trouble with the Po-lice...

Anyway, we paid the fee as it was late and we had to get bubs down. The room was extremely large (4 beds), table, chairs and a kettle, coffee cups and tea/coffee, bar fridge. There was no microwave or kitchenette which was annoying and strange considering how huge the room was. It was very clean, and not too much road noise. There is a restaraunt attached but the prices were extremely high - we didn't give anything a try.

Service was ok - not friendly but not rude, we only interacted at check in and out.

So overall it was a good sized room and very clean which was good - was just annoying to cop the extra charge for bubs and that there were no facilities in the room to make your own food (directing you to their overpriced restaraunt of course).

I will be reviewing the caravan park tomorrow - we passed through Dalwallinu on our way back and chose the caravan park instead which was cheaper and not as clean, but still a better deal - oh and they didn't charge for the baby!
