I needed a new battery for my $20 watch. Last time I needed a battery wouldve been about two years ago... but I couldn't remember where I got it done back then. I only get watch batteries done if I'm happy with the price from any random place. I'm from several suburbs away to Brunswick but I come to Barkly Square for other errands several times a year. On a Saturday, I first went to Northcote Plaza and the locksmith there near the pet shop quoted me a whopping $20. That's the same price as the watch! I told the bloke exactly that, but he didn't care to quote less. My next stop was Barkly Square, knowing of Condello's for years. A friendly lady there quoted me just $12. Suddenly my memory came back that I must've come here back then! She suggested I come back in 20 mins.. even though they were busy... yes, it was ready by then. The lady said the battery came with a 12mth guarantee. Who would've thought neighbouring shops not even 5 mins distance apart would have such price difference. The lovely lady gave me their business card. I'm keeping it handy this time and will make sure I'm loyal to these people from now on. Customer service = excellent.
