I visited Dr Jim Coates because he offered sleep dentistry, and as someone with a real phobia of dentists, I figured this meant he was used to dealing with nervous patients, and if needed I could be 'under' to have my dentist work done. My fiance called to make the appointment and was assured over the phone that he was great with nervous patients. However, my two visits to him showed otherwise. The first visit, he was noticably frustrated with me crying and shaking in the chair, and made several comments about it, and also spoke to my husband instead of to me and seemed to almost ignore me. The second visit I went under iv sedation to receive fillings, and my experience was also not nice this time. He is very blunt and I would not recommend him to nervous patients and have not returned to him, I have now found a dentist more suited to my needs (who is also cheaper!)
However, the surgery was very clean, neat and tidy, and the receptionist staff were lovely.
