Fantastic Thai restaurant in Sydney! My friend and I did some research beforehand and found some great reviews for Chat Thai online. We decided to have dinner here and arrived around 5:30pm, and there was already a group of people lining outside! When you get there, there's a sheet of paper where you write down your name and the number of people that you're with and whether you're fussed about sharing a table. Because there was only 2 of us, we only had to wait around 15 - 20 minutes for a table compared to the other people who got there before us.

I ordered the Stir fried Chicken with cashew nuts, some green veggies in a chilli jam, and some fluffy white rice. The chicken was so tender and cooked perfectly. The stir-fry wasn't too spicy as well and the cashews added some great texture to the dish.

The restaurant is pretty small and the tables and chairs are quite close to one another but they had an upstairs area as well. The staff were very friendly and the service in general was pretty good, though we did have to wait a while after we were seated for them to take our order.

Great tasting Thai food at a great price. I think this restaurant is a great place to go with a group of friends and order dishes to share. I don't think they take bookings in advance though I'm not exactly sure. If they don't, be prepared to wait, but the food is worth it.

Approximate cost: $15

You have to line up outside to get a table, but it is worth it. Outstanding Thai food, great value for money. Its always busy - you might have to wait to get in, but you won't be sorry.

Great Thai food at a good price with nice waiters. The social setting also creates ease. Only issue is that there might be a long wait especially on Fridays and weekends.

Chat Thai is always one of the best Thai restaurant I've ever visited.the taste is so authentic. I like their dessert and drink. the part i dislike most is the long line waiting outside every evening.

Best thai restaurant i've come across so far. Great authentic thai food, comfortable environment and friendly staff. the food is good value, not too expensive but so delicious! the only negative i think is that the store is always so busy and often the wait is quite long (sometimes 1 hour during lunch and dinner times) and therefore the food may take long to come but apart from that it's still an excellent restaurant!

Approximate cost: $10

Every time I go here the place is SO packed! But the food is definitely worth it: very very delicious thai food. The thing that differentiates the food here is the sauces and the herbs I think.

Chat Thai is a great restaurant to go to for authentic Thai food, I've been going to this establishment religiously since 2009 and would keep going there every week if I hadn't moved out of the city. I've always ordered the same few dishes from this restaurant, Dtom Saap with pork ribs, Crying Tiger(BBQ beef), Yum Nuea (Thai Beef Salad), Yum Woon Sen (Seafood Glass Noodle Salad), Mussaman Curry, Satay Chicken Skewers & Pork Skewers.
I'm not a big fan of desserts but their coconut ice cream is pretty amazing!

This is the best Thai in Sydney. There menue is extensive. My favourite is the chicken holy basil and the crying tiger. The service is quick once seated be you can wait an hour sometimes to get a seat as it is that is how popular it is! Definetly worth the wait though. The food if traditional with genourous servings. Not this silly modern Thai cusine!
