Good sized meals. The salad with the little beetroots is really nice. I had the Mexican snitzel which was really nice although when I've had similar meals at other venues they always have ingredients such as corn chips/guacamole whereas this meal was very plain, but it was nice. The caramel cheesecake was a bit on the small side but was yummy. Would come back again.

I went to the cascade hotel for lunch recently and had the pocketed chicken breast with chips and salad, the value for money is good as the food servings are big, overall the meal was nice enough. the service was good but could have been a little bit more friendly. overall an average place for a meal nothing spectacular, its good value for money and it has a nice atmosphere but there is room for improvement.

This is one of my favourite pubs to go to in winter as it's warm and cosy with good heating! The meal sizes are very generous and they offer a good selection of mains.
There's a good selection of seafood on the menu, but the cajun chicken salad is my favourite as it's a healthy option with a bit of kick. I also recommend the extra large chicken schnitzel. Most meals seem to come with chips and salad.
They also have a good desert menu, but it's unlikely you'd have any room left for dessert!
The wait time on meals tends to be slow.

This pub offers old fashioned service and quality. You get VERY large meals at a reasonable price. They have a super schnitzel which takes great strength to finish!
It can be hard to get a table so you either need to book or arrive early.
They often have specials on shop-a-dockets where you get a second meal for about $8.
Nice family atmosphere and they have an outdoor seated area which is great for summer.
There's plenty of parking at the venue.

For a Sunday night, the place seemed pretty busy. After deciding what gastronomical delights we were going to sample we duly ordered and waited for our meals.

and waited

and waited.

After almost an hour they arrived at the table. The serves were HUGE and the quality of the food was pretty damn good too. Probably not worth waiting an hour for, but I'd sit through a 45 minute delay for it.

The service, however, left a bit to be desired. Aside from the wait time, when my meal was eventually delivered to me, the waitress (who may very well have been there since the dawn of time) was a bit too hasty in putting the plate down causing a good portion of my chips to be deposited on the table. If the tabletop had been any lower I suspect I'd have worn the meal in the lap. She also failed to bring enough cutlery for all four of us at the table, but rather than correct the error, I actually had to go to the bar and ask for it. Finally when a doggy bag was requested, rather than take the plate away to wrap the leftover food (and there was plenty), we were delivered a sheet of aluminium foil to wrap it ourselves. Bizzarre.

Overall, it was a pretty good night, but could have been so much more than that.

Approximate cost: $15-$22

The Cascade Hotel have a great variety on the menu, with daily specials and everyone's favourites. The food is great, I've never had a less than excellent meal. The portions are quite big and represent great value for money. They usually have a shopper docket offer running. Friday night is $10 steak night. You do need to book in advance and be aware they are very busy most nights, especially over the weekend.
