Fabulous spot in Newcastle's East End. Relaxed vibe, friendly & helpful staff, super yummy and fresh food - & cool tunes! Oh and a great range of drinks too, alcoholic & non alcoholic....;-)
Check it out, pronto!

Approximate cost: $16-20

Had a great night out here. Downstairs packed out on a Tuesday night by fairly young crowd. Our group with a few in our 40s enjoyed the playlist of Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac all night!
Drinks to kick off with some starters. Beer cocktail of Dos Equus + orange + ginger + chilli sauce + salted rim - um, yum, yum - I'll take 2 please!
Starters were off the Tuesday special menu - meatballs, spicy chicken wings, potata brava, corn chips with homemade guac & fresh salsa!
Mains were taco plates - 3 for $14. We had beef, pulled pork, chicken, fish, - enjoy & repeat. Perfect for sharing & 3 were enough for a main.
But leave room for dessert - churros (piping hot) and a pot of creamy salted caramel - more yum!
Wish I could have stayed for more food, and definitely more drinks but had to be at work by 3am so early night.
I'll be back many times.....
(cost below is per head for 3 courses & drinks in our group of 7)

Approximate cost: $40

Well the food is good but not as good as I have had at other Mexican restaurants and is not a traditional Mexican menu with the owners putting their own twist to the menu.
We had the empanadas and Gwyneth Paltrow soft tacos with sides of black beans, guacamole and rice.
Mains are small size but at $6 not bad for value but do not come with beans and rice as many other restaurants do which means you need to order the extras which are $4 - $5 each so can add up quickly.
The one thing that stood out for me was the corn chips, complimentary on arrival and delicious so I think they were made in house.
The sangria was great and the atmosphere intimate but a very young crowd of people and some a little loud.
Overall it was enjoyable

Visited Casa De Loco for a work function on a Friday night. I had an amazing time!! The food was absolutely delicious, Sangria was the best I've ever had and the atmosphere was cosy and warm. We sat upstairs and it was lovely. I am definitely going back hopefully sooner rather than later!! Highly recommend this restuarant.
