Carrotheads is vegetarian but has plenty of vegan options, just ask the person at the counter. Being a small eatery in a shabby little mall, the food is already made and in the fridge behind the glass at the counter, but this means you get to see what it looks like before you buy it. They then heat it up in the microwave for you (if it's a hot dish that you're buying). I've had lasagnas, curries, and pies from here and they've all been great and the prices are nice and cheap. Once when I asked what they had that was vegan, the lady asked me if I would like a free vegan cupcake that she had experimented with making and could I please tell her what it was like. It was very yummy!

Being a vegetarian I am always on the look out for new places, so was pleasantly surprised when I found out about Carrotheads, I grabbed the Curry lentil pie and a coke for $6 and it was very nice. Would like to try some of there other stuff next time. I will be Back!

Excellent vegetarian food shop. The food is delicious; I've tried lentil pies, mushroom quiche and hot chips. The hot chips are actually from potatoes (well who knows what fries are made of from other places hey) that are cut up by the ladies who run the shop!

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of servings; the mushroom quiche is $5.50 and the slice is huge. The Lentil pie I think was $4.00, which I reckon you'd be paying for a factory-produced questionably-filled pie from a deli.

There are a range of fresh drinks made to order that are good size and excellent price, $5 for a large fresh juice.

The service is prompt and efficient; you may be met by a smile occasionally but more often not. It's not a bad experience, the ladies just seem harried. I guess you notice the difference since you expect quality vego places to be staffed by tie-dye wearing hippie types who meditate between customers and thus are smiling beatifically when you walk in.

The shop itself is clean and light. No luxury furnishings, just clean tables and a nice little oasis in the midst of the Port.

Worth the trip for dedicated vegos for yummy food and quick service.

Approximate cost: $5.50
