So very impressed, we just about had to crawl out of here after devouring such a huge lunch. My prawn cocktail and oysters were awesome, very fresh and a decent size, for mains, a steak, it looked like half a cow, it was monstrous. My girlfriend could only handle a small amount of seafood and then a schnitzel followed by a very decadent dessert. We were extremely impressed with the quality and serving size, prices were fairly reasonable considering the size of our meals, Great staff.

Met some friends here last Sunday for lunch. Service is a tricky thing. Our waitress was friendly and lovely but not at all attentive - so didn't check on us, didn't offer more drinks etc.
We ordered garlic bread, mains and a kids meal. The garlic bread and kids meal came out quite quickly and the garlic bread was ok. Then we waited. And waited. After 1 hour and 15 mins I asked another waitress how our meals were coming along. She returned to say they wouldn't be much longer. They were about another 15mins. When they arrived it was obvious they had forgotten us. My husband's Moroccan lamb was so raw it couldn't be eaten. We told them the lamb was raw we didn't want it any more. They weren't that busy, not that that should be an excuse and no-one apologised up front to say they'd simply overlooked us. Instead the waitress came over and said the manager sends his apologies and offered my husband another meal free of charge. To be honest this wasn't good enough. After waiting so long my husband didn't want anything else and the manager him or herself should've come over. Will never return.

Have been here twice now and both times the food has been amazing and the staff very friendly. The chicken and avocado burger is awesome and the steaks are so tender.

The place has a cozy country feel with a wood fire in the cooler months with plenty of seating, it has definitely become one of our favourite places to eat. Whilst it can be a bit expensive, the quality of the food is worth it.

Where has this place been all my life!!!
When you think of desserts, a grill cafe isn't the first to come to mind. But after experiencing the dessert here, this is definitely the top of my hit list.
Their fried ice cream signature dish is truly inspired and you would want to share it with someone. It's quite big

We love going here. Family friendly, great food, great service. The only negative is the menu is large and it can be overwhelming finally selecting something. We are regulars.

Really nice atmosphere, the sort of place where you enjoy sitting for a few hours over a leisurely lunch. Service is very attentive and friendly. The food was good. My husband is a burger connoisseur and he really enjoyed their ultimate burger - onions rings were good too. I really enjoyed their chicken schnitzel - they put sage in the crumbs which is a nice twist.

After doing a bit of wine tasting nearby, my husband and I were feeling some hunger pains and decided that Carmel's Cafe was the go. They offer such an extensive menu that it took us some time to decide what we wanted. We started with salt & pepper pork ribs with dipping sauce and buffalo wings for entrees, absolutely delicious, we couldn't wait to try our mains if the entrees were anything to go by. We were not disappointed, infact very impressed with our mains, fabulous presentation and the servings were quite large. My husband ordered Carmel's Seafood Temptation Platter, it was such a large serve, I thought it was for at least 2 people. I tried the Spanish Chicken & Avocado Salad, I just loved the mango glaze, our meals were fabulous and certainly ended our hunger pains. It was extremely busy, yet the service was still friendly and prompt.

They also look after the kids with a great kids menu, great for the whole family.

My girlfriend and I had lunch here after having a girls day out. Such a pleasant place to have a meal, the service was great and the food to match. Just loved the presentation of our meals, felt like we were in a very expensive restaurant.

Schnitzel with peppercorn sauce is a must here as well as the seafood platter which my husband and I tried previously. The restaurant is in the outer part of Mclaren Vale near the primary school and has plenty of parking.

If you are planning to have dinner here it is best to book ahead as they do get very busy and you wouldn't want to miss out.

Overall our meal here finished off a perfect day.

Love it, every experience is awesome, food is great and always a repeat customer. Love having a loyalty card as well! Service is always wonderful, you know it will be good when they call you by your first name when you walk in the door and immediately recognise you.
