I can not recommend Dr Brian Charters who works at this centre.

Dr Charters has sent me for two completely unnecessary test referrals, one of which cost me $400 out of pocket.

The first referral was for an invasive test, which was questioned by the specialists. In their opinion the test wasn't appropriate for my symptoms. Thankfully the specialists managed to convince Dr Charters to change to a more appropriate and less invasive test.

The second referral for something totally unrelated, was also questioned by the specialists, who advised that I did not need the test. Dr Charters then decided he knew better than the experts, and that I needed the test anyway. He submitted a form to have my driver's licence suspended if I did not undergo the test. It cost me $400 to undergo the test, and the results confirmed that it had been unnecessary.

Until our families recent move to Russell Island, Carina Medical & Specialist Centre were our local doctors. In an easy to find location at the corner of busy Creek and Stanley Roads, this doctor's surgery has ample off street parking at the front of the practice. As a reasonably sized practice with six doctors you can usually obtain a same day appointment.

My family ordinarily saw Dr Phillip Wuth who is not to be confused with his father, Dr Greg Wuth, who is at the same practice. We could not have been more pleased with Dr Phillip's professionalism and on three specific occasions he provided exceptional care to my youngest son in most urgent circumstances. One incident involved a quite serious boiling water burn to his stomach which Dr Phillip dealt with immediately. On another occasion my son had a sinus infection and Dr Phillip instructed us that he immediately needed to go to the Mater Hospital. I didn't imagine that hospitalization was required as we had only seen another doctor, for the same problem, the previous day. Thank goodness for Dr Phillip's excellent diagnosis because my son was immediately admitted to hospital where he remained, on an antibiotic drip, for four days.
