I took two cruises one before Christmas and one after New Years Day, on the 1st one, I had great guide in Brandon who was extremely knowledgeable with the commentary and even had a joke with senior staff members. On the 2nd one, the captain was a magnificent, he took a photo of a group of our family and you could see that he had to be aware of signals from his crew. The one way small trip from Barangaroo to Circular Quay was by a young captain, who made it adventurous for the little ones but kept it all within safety limits on the water. A definite highlight with numerous guests recommending a return on the Captain Cook cruises is a must. A definite must for those who want to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Opera House up close and to be part of the Sydney Waters open atmosphere.

Great cruise line with really nice prices. We managed to snag a drink package with our cruise which really bolstered the whole experience.

Last month my family and I went on a fantastic cruise with these guys. We only went for a night but it was definatly worth it. The best part was the food.

I think these cruises are fairly overpriced but i found out that if you call last minute. (like a few hours before its due to depart) If there are extra seats available they will give you big discount and even throw in a drinks package.
This tip only helps if your in the city and dont actually need to go on the cruise because if they are full its a no go

Hi Ted, I noticed your review and just wanted to add that in recent times they have drastically lowered their prices.

We took a small tour from Circular Quay to the zoo. The cruise price was pretty inexpensive, around $13 round trip per person. The quay has some food options and benches if you have to wait a bit for the next boat.

We really enjoyed the trip! I liked how the tour guide told everyone the history and facts about the harbour and stopped at some historical sites. He seemed very knowledgeable.

Seating can be hit or miss. You can sit inside or outside. The first ride was pretty full, so we had to stand at the back of the boat and it was a bit uncomfortable and made me nervous. The trip back was emptier and we were able to sit outside on the seats and enjoyed it much more.

We would take this trip again but only if there were not as many people so we could sit and enjoy the views.

I went on the Valentines Day cruise on the M/V Sydney 2000. What a perfect day. The food was great, not of big portions but quite sufficient. Drinks were included which made it great value for money. The crew and wait staff were fantastic. You could get up anytime and wander to the Stardeck and take in the amazing views.

You could tell everyone was having a great time. Even on the Stardeck you could hear the commentary about Sydney Harbour. I would love to do it again and based on this experience will be back soon for another Captain Cook cruise.

Glad to hear the food is good, have been on a few of these cruises with various companies and the food has always been ordinary.

I've been on a dinner cruise around the harbour, once at a Christmas party and another when we had overseas visitors and everytime the atmosphere and food is great.

I love a journey round the harbour. I found Captain Cook cruises to be very hospitable. However I felt the food lacked. The standard of food is 3 star and perhaps I am a little harsh as the ability to carry and prepare food on such a ship/boat may be difficult but this was not enticing for me

Seems like a good experience!

I find taking visitors into Sydney on a Captain Cook Cruise is a great way for them to see our beautiful harbour. We go on a dinner cruise for special occasions, and have hired a private room for my mum's 70th birthday party for a lunch cruise. It was fantastic ! and the staff are always great. I highly recommend them.
