I just returned to the Camberwell Markets following recent renovations, and have to say what a magnificant job was done. There are still a few small details to complete, but it's great to have my regular Market back up and running!

I love the camberwell market, although it is a little bit pricey, it is a good way to spend the morning.
There is a lot of variety, and something to please everyone. From food, to clothes, you never leave empty handed.

This market is a really great place to spend a casual Sunday morning. It is run by the local rotary club, and entry just costs a gold coin donation, which is at a very good value. There are hundreds of stalls which you can spend hours at, rummaging through every single item. There are also a few trailers that sell delicious donuts and other hot food for when you get hungry.

The main thing you'll see when you enter the market is the amount of clothes there are. There is a lot! You can find all sorts of clothes in all colours, from brights to blacks. There are items in all sorts of styles, for both men and women. You will also find tons of shoes and accesseries. There are also many stalls that sell antiques and handmade items, so don't worry if clothes are not your thing. If you look carefully, you may even find some cheap books and household items. Once, I saw a woman buy an almost new pasta machine for just $3!

A downside however is that many stallholders often overprice their clothes early on in the morning. Sometimes, very worn clothes are bring sold for over $5. It is best to wait around until 12 when the sellers start packing up to grab a bargain. The rotary club forces all selling to stop at 12.30 and so this time is havoc. The sellers don't really want to take a lot of stuff back home and so will throw away their items for a lot cheaper, an item that was previously $5 may now be just 50 cents! I often wait around until this time to make an actual purchase.

Camberwell market is a fun place to go to, the stalls are plentiful and the atmosphere is great. There are buskers that often come and dogs that get walked around the market. Sometimes I spend more time looking at the dogs than the actual items on sale.

If you're bored on a Sunday morning, find some cash, grab the dog and jump in the car. Head to Camberwell market for a great time :)

This market has been there for a long time - I reckon about at least 35 years.

I haven't been there recently but I use to go there every other Sunday with my family when I was in my mid to late teens.

We all use to split up and say where we were meeting as it is such a massive market and there are rows and rows of stalls.

I liked finding old fashioned books such as Enid Blyton and at the end of the day if I found one or two of these I would have a massive big smile on my face.

Now I know that it is still there, I will have to take my family and they too can have an excellent experience like I have had in the past.

A great big market that has lots of variety. Get there early to avoid crowds, get a park and snag the good items! Lots of vintage bags / items for sale, as well as some locals holding mini garage sales. I particularly like it when people try to charge $15+ for their ready-for-the-bin worn out old clothes, but think their books are worthless and sell them for 50c each! lots of great finds here.

A really good and massive market that caters for the serious dealer to those that enjoy the thrill of markets LOL. We've found lots of gems there and even an old limited edition Beatles picture record!!! A local Rotary Club keep it running really well. There's food, clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, tools, etc etc - everything lol. Have found stall holders are eager to clear their stuff which makes it fun to bargain hehehe
