This used to be my favourite Italian restaurant but went there on 19/01/13 with some friends and the evening was dreadful. Starter and main course arrived at different times for everyone which is really annoying - I waited 10 more minutes for my main than everyone else so ate alone! Friend asked for no potatoes but received main with potatoes - her barramunda tasted strange and the only other veg on the plate were way past their best. Waitress started clearing plates before everyone had finished which really irritates me. Service has always been a bit rubbish here but I was prepared to ignore because the food was good. Sadly this time my 'classic' spag bol was a dollop of flavourless meat on some linguine (certainly wasn't spagetti). Really disappointed as I have previously recommended this place. I won't be going again.

Went there on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy. Even though we had a booking we had to wait outside for 20 min and a party with the same number of people who just turned up without a booking got seated ahead of us. Even though they knew they made a mistake they didn't even try and make up for it in any way. Food is ok, but not sure it's worth going back for with service like that.

Clean and well presented. Friendly staff who coped very well as it was a busy night. Food was nice but nothing to rave about. I found the meat in my scallopini to be tuff, but the sauce was wonderful. Apple pie filling was ncie but the pastry was soggy.

Had dinner for 4 on Sat Oct 1st 2011 at 7:30 pm. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated very soon after we arrived. There is a buzz about the place not to mention the wonderful aromas. The pizzas and pasta and rissotto we ordered were excellent, The portions were not as big as Ciao Italias in South Perth but were more than enough but more importantly actually tasted better...so portion size isn't everything!!. Chill Flakes, condiments and a wine bucket were all offered without us asking for it. Place was very busy but we got our food within 20 minutes.... We love Ciao Italia but we don't relish waiting for a table for 1-2 hours on weekends especially if the group is 6 or more. The fact that this place takes bookings was a BIG BIG PLUS. We will still go to Ciao Italia on weekdays but for weekends and with a reservation, GO TO Caffe Italia instead...you will not be disappointed.

Approximate cost: $20
