for a casual, reasonably priced drink and bistro meal i would recommend these guys. lots of space if you have a large group. comfortable but not fancy surrounds. need to be a member or signed in if you live locally - but membership provides a free drink, so not such a bad deal

We organised a lunch on a Sunday and it was very dissapointing. We had a reservation but it was very dead so no need. The bad part was that the stove/ovens weren't functioning so we could only order cold food or pizza. Given that we had a reservation it would have been nice for the staff to ring in advance to let us know the situation so we could have decided whether to stay on or not.

This is a club with a great value $10/year joining fee. But with this fee you get two free drinks and $10 off your Melbourne Cup Lunch, making it great value for money.

There is always somewhere really comfy to relax. If no-one has booked the function room, you can go in there and mellow out on the sofas (and put your baby to play on the floor!) There are lots of nooks and crannies, both inside and out.

The food is quite pricey for what's on offer, but it's no more than most Lower North Shore upmarket pubs. I wasn't a big fan of the proscuitto pizza I ordered once, with the base being quite dry and rubbery. The steak sandwich was pretty good, as was the Vietnamese chicken salad, which was very fresh and had a great texture.

Last time I was there was a Thursday lunchtime and there were a few very good live music acts playing over several hours.

Kind of an up market club that all the cool people in the area go to at lunchtime for a nice meal and a cold beer or wine. They play cool music and have plenty of helpful staff. Due to the higher class of patrons the prices are a little high!
