Bunja Thai is a good place to get tasty Thai food, but I do find it a bit pricey. The green curry is lovely, as is the Thai fried rice, but the pad Thai is a little too bland for me. The flavours in the dishes don't seem to be consistent over time, so sometimes it is great and other times just ok.

It's housed in a beautiful old building, and has lots of space making it a good place for group bookings. Sometimes the service can be a little rude and slow. We asked for a small change for our children once but this was flatly refused.

Overall I would go back again because I love Thai food.

Recommend the $12 lunch special which you can eat in or takeaway. They have a different set menu each day which can be viewed on their website and includes a curry, stir fry, rice, , roti bread and salad. $4 house red, which is actually not bad. Great value and tasty food.

Conveniently located on Pall Mall, in a beautifully preserved heritage building (an old bank building, I believe) this is a nice place to go for a meal with friends. It is spacious, with tables a reasonable distance from each other. The food is nice, although the special this week - crispy pork belly stir fried with a red curry paste - was a little bit disappointing. Despite being assured twice by the waitress that it would be crispy, it was not. Service is alright, friendly but a little bit slow - we waited well over half an hour after our entree, for our plates to be cleared and then the mains to be served, despite it not being overly busy. Overall though, Bunja Thai is a nice restaurant.

amazing lunch specials for only $12 and you get heaps! its amazing, best thai food in bendigo and if you like roti bread then bunja is your place to go. they are cheap and delicious quick lunch service

I couldn't fault the service which was really friendly & efficient. I enjoyed the pad thai & the curries that I tasted. Good portion sizes and the building is beautiful.

We had been living in Bendigo for about six weeks and it was my husbands birthday and we had no idea where to go for dinner. We liked the look of the beautiful old bak building that this restaurant was in so decided to take a chance. The service was impeccable, the food was completely delicious and it was quite reasonably priced. Have since found out that the restaurant is on the favourite list of some locals we have met...so we were glad we stumbled across it when we did!

Set in the beautiful historical building of the 1887 colonial bank, when one walks into the restaurant the architecture alone is superb.... complement this with the exceptional tastes of the dishes and the wonderfully helpful staff (who are alway very happy to help me interpret and choose what best suits my tastes from their menu) this all makes for a wonderful eating experience.
Also as another bonus, I have recently discovered their exceptional lunchtime deal! for only $12 it is a set menu... one gets a large meal with rice and roti bread and more food than one can eat! :) If you are eating in you can also enjoy $1 drinks (or $4 for the wine drinkers) ... an amazingly tasty lunch for friends or that last minute dash for takeaway... Also their lunchtime menus are specified on their website so you can choose which day would best suit your tastes.
