Amazing atmosphere and lovely people. Good food and splendid cocktails. A few minor things stopped a 5 star rating but not far off. Would recommend for a friend.
A really nicely renovated old warehouse or church or something with high ceilings, has a nice open feel especially on a hot summer evening.
A broad menu. We opted for the salmon ceviche and the beef cheek, both of which were super delicious. Good selection of beers. Nice staff. Relaxed and cosy environment
It's hard to describe this place.
Venue wise, it is indeed a mess hall/college dining hall setup complete with the high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, arched windows, raw wooden communal tables etc.
But is not your average bland dining hall decked with the occasional portrait of past college masters and sporting championship flags. Instead, there are plants and quirky video projections on the walls.
The menu is vietnamese/south east asian themed, and if you want some drinks there is a full bar. We had a really good experience; vietnamese coleslaw, roast pork belly, pawpaw salad, seared tuna, claypot and sweet dumplings filled with lotus seed paste to finish.
Whilst there was nothing groundbreakingly new or exciting, everything was executed properly, the food was fresh and good quality, serving sizes were reasonable considering the prices charged and service was friendly and prompt.
A really good mid-range vietnamese bistro.
