This is an odd cafe/bar combination. It came into being before Queensland created the small bar license, so basically it is bar running under a cafe license.

So it is okay for snacks but you wouldn't want a meal here. They have coffee, but their tea and juice selection is boring. Better to come here for drinks.

My experiences here include coming here on a quiet day and relaxing on one of the sofas, coming here late at night to give my friend who had a few beers time to drink some coffee and be sober enough to legally drive, coming here when there was a band playing, coming here one afternoon, having a snack and realising we were the only people in the place over 30.

Yes, it has become the home of Brisbane's pseudo hipsters (people who dress like hipsters but are not real hipsters). Even so, I think there are many reasons to go here.

I love the coffee here. A bit hard to find if you haven't come across this place before but it's worth it. It gets quite busy at lunch hour and for good reason. I have never had a burnt or bad coffee here, ever! And, well Brisbane isn't really known for it's coffee. The food is also amazing. Comparing it with all the food in the CBD, this is still a favourite. Also, wine. It has a bar for those days you want to have a drink after work or just a nice lunch with a cider and some mates. Seriously worth any amount of waiting.

Quirky little cafe in the CBD, as other's have said, it can be a bit difficult to find but it's worth it. Self service, so go on in and find a seat. Coffee is pretty consistent and you get a nice chocolate coated coffee bean with it. Muffins and scones are a bit hit and miss, and I think overpriced to boot, although the rest of the food and drink seems on par. Worth going to just to see the artwork and experience the atmosphere.

A gem to stumble upon. This cafe is hidden at the side of a loading dock. But once inside it has a great atmosphere, with clean tasty food options and great coffee. Its a great hangout

Approximate cost: $10

The coffee is consistently good and the atmosphere is quite nice. The location is very convenient and their business hour is great too.

Came here for lunch on Monday - it's a little difficult to find, especially if you're not from Brisbane, but it's a great little underground venue, and a cute little cafe/bar. They didn't have a lunch menu, so I was a bit disappointed by the lack of choice, but my chicken toastie was simple and yum - can't comment on the coffee as I had a cider instead.

Approximate cost: $8

Took my husband, toddler and baby here for a coffee and rest last Saturday arvo. Lved the place! Amazing coffee and great service - we were made to feel very welcome which is nice when you have a very active toddler!

I loved that it is in the hustle and bustle of the Brisbane CBD and mall yet it is quiet, funky and a little oasis

Brew is a gorgeous little indie cafe tucked down the bottom of one of Brisbane's forgotten alleyways. They do coffee and cakes and are branching out into tapas and wine/beer/etc late nights wed-fri. perfect for a night out or coffee with some friends!
