My husband of 16 years has untreated mental health. (Showed symptoms, 9 of BPD) and plus!
I was still prepared to seek help for him via DBT but a particular young male counsellor suggested there’s nothing wrong w. him

BPD traits are highly manipulative if you are aware of Cluster B personalities.

Hence, marriage which has broken down has no chance of being repaired!

This is beyond ridiculous
Disappointed to the max!!

My experience with Bower Place was totally negative. Had a young and inexperienced counsellor who co-ordinated the family counselling sessions. She appeared to be completely oblivious to the dynamics of the group and allowed a strong personality to dominate and direct the proceedings.
This was a totally negative and frustrating experience for me.
Not sure if a more experienced person would help. Definitely would not recommend.

Rude staff, would not recommend. Didn't have the time to properly listen and was treated very poorly.

Definitely not.
I have had a far better experience elsewhere.
Malcolm Robinson claimed on the Bower Place website to be a member of the Resolution Institute which when checked was a lie.
He dispensed opinions and advice he wasnt qualified to give.

Disappointing. I actually came out feeling worse. This clinic’s focus is on operating as a TAFE school, with client support taking a secondary role. You feel the focus is very much on student teaching, via microphones and prolific note-taking in the room. You feel that you are there mainly as teaching material. The one good experience for me was Malcolm: he was excellent in the occasions he was present. However, the other counsellor who was assigned to me spent sessions continually asking me questions and offering no advice, follow-through, or any kind of ongoing personal support. So I felt I was totally on my own and having to find my own solutions. I also felt this counsellor was unprofessional and jumped to flawed conclusions, which led me to end my sessions - I felt this counsellor simply didn’t believe me anymore. I don't recommend this place if you are facing a crisis.

Malcolm has the expertise and wisdom to help people navigate their lives. I highly recommend him as a therapist. We have tried so many others and have finally found one who is making a huge difference to our family. Don't go anywhere else!

This is a great counselling service for all types of relationships and personal problems. They are also a college and so you can get a cheaper rate by having a student studying counselling in the room with you. Even if you select not to have a student in the room they will still offer their support in providing extra research into topics you may need help in. A bit pricy but you get what you pay for and they are really good.

Very good counsellors for children. Great service and explain everything in an easy to understand format. Worth the effort to go in and see them.
Thank you Brad for assisting us with our issues

Bower Place offer fantastic lectures in areas related to mental health and family therapy, very useful for any professionals based in the city who want to do an hour's training. They have a very good industry reputation with some very good Psychologists and Social Workers who can take on clients. Again, for people based on the city who want to see a Psych for whatever reason, they're fantastic.

They offer a whole host of services, this is what their website says:
Established in 1986 by Malcolm Robinson and Catherine Sanders, Bower Place is located on Gawler Place, at the heart of the Adelaide CBD, adjacent to Rundle Mall. Confidential & professional services in psychology, psychiatry, family therapy, psychotherapy, counselling & mediation are available for a wide range of relationship, emotional, mental health & behavioural difficulties.
