I lived inMunich for six months a number of years ago and my friend from there and I went to the Black Forest Restaurant for lunch on Wdnesday. I had the goulash and spaetzel while she had the German lunch. It took me back to Munich. Food was hot, authentic and altough probably not to everyones taste, it is indeed authentic, delicious German food. The waitress was lovely, too.

This interesting restaurant has a very good atmosphere and is worth a visit. I was here with a large group of people and everyone was very happy with the experience. I personally didn't enjoy the meal that I ordered but everyone liked the food.

Didn't realise we had such a good German/European restaurant in Brisbane. Having spent some time in Germany, I have a fondness for authentic German cuisine. I must say this restaurant did not disappoint. I had the Schweinebraten, and my partner the rabbit. Both were just like in Germany. The staff was well trained and reasonably friendly, although during the busy hour they were stretched to the limit it seemed.

Especially loved the desserts.

I made a booking a week before which turned out to be a good idea because it was packed. We came for a birthday dinner with my cousin and she was quite impressed with the atmosphere. The food was plenty and the beer was good (coming from a non beer drinker). The live music was great with different musics played and the obligatory Happy Birthday song was fabulous. Everyone was friendly and desserts were so good. I would definitely come again.

Upon entering, we asked if there were any tables free. Apparently there were as we were guided to a table at the back of the restaurant where we were to sit down. After having only about five minutes to browse the menu, we were approached by the waitres. From what I could gather she had assigned us to a table that had already been booked and the people who had booked it had now arrived. She essentially told us that we had to go outside - that's right, she kicked us out. We were very swiftly escorted from the restaurant, left dazed and confused as to what exactly had just occurred. We were gob smacked.

Approximate cost: $40
