Firstly ... AMAZING coffee, so many coffee shops burn the coffee or over heat the milk, their Barista is fantastic. I have been there on 3 occasions and the standard is very high. The food is modern and presented expertly, staff are very young and hip, Dan the manager makes me laugh ... only problem is parking ..I hate Surfers at the moment as they have close so many roads. Black Coffee Lyrics is upstairs and a little hard to find but well worth the effort.

The food is always so well presented and its delicious, they make a great cup of coffee too. Friendly staff and speedy service, its a bit hard to find though being upstairs.

My personal experience is delicious food and really quirky, kicked back vibe! The art of the walls was fantastic and clearly from local artists, and layout has an op-shop retro feel to it. Particularly being vegetarian, it can be difficult to find menus that not only cater to meat-free, but cater to yummy meat free! I did return after my first visit and found that the menu had changed- still good but not as good (I think if you go on a busy morning such as a Saturday morning like I did you get less options). I would definitely recommend the Penny Lane and a cold press coffee, both very different and very well made. The portion sizes were hefty on the Sunday I went, less so when I returned the next Saturday. The only negative aspects I experienced was unpredictable service, although I liked the quirky staff my friend was a bit offended when the waiter questioned her having soy and she didn't get her eggs cooked hard as she asked. Overall I still love it but would recommend going on a lazy Sunday or during the week, and beware if you are fussy about your order amendments!!

I still prefer Zaraffas (for the coffee- not the bacon)

This cafe is a revelation in Surfers Paradise, long renowned for epitomising tackiness. It's a little hard to locate, but once you know where you're going it's easy. It's nice and spacious, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Outside they have loads of comfy red armchairs and inside it's bench tables. It's cute, homely and rustic - I loved it. Not qualms with the service either.

Food is amazing - I had my best french toast experience to date here. Thick vanilla toast with yoghurt and berry coulis with almonds, honey and ricotta on the side. You get 3 big slices too. Excellent value. My boyfriend couldn't finish his big breakfast equivalent which always means you've got bang for your buck. My coffee was delicious, a little bitter on top but overall I was really satisfied. This cafe will be a priority visit next time I'm on the Gold Coast for sure.
