Went to Big John’s Sunday night for the 1st time to order a small takeaway pizza for my 7 year old son and will never step foot in there again.
They're not very welcoming and took for ever to take my order, even though there was no one else at the counter.
There was stuff all over the service counter, dirty dishes and stuff to serve.
Too much going on and very crammed, as they have too many tables and chairs. Nowhere to wait for your takeaway, unless you’re standing on top of someone else and also having to continually move to get out of someone’s way.
I ordered the pizza and asked if they have takeaway juice as my son was thirsty. She said they didn’t, so I asked if she could just put a little bit in a glass for him to have. In the end, she said I’ll give you a little glass and charge you a children’s drink. Little did I know that this little children’s drink was going to cost over $4.00. All up, with the tiny pizza, it was $17 something. If I knew the drink was going to be so much, I would have bought the bottle in the Chinese shop next door, which he’d asked me for and was $4.00.
Anyway, the pizza was ok, nothing special, but they need to work on their service and staff and the place was very unorganised.
Not sure how people can give it good reviews.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my modest opinion and it was for a reasonably good price too.

Love their pizza, particularly the Mick Morlan's. Delivery time is always long but it is worth the wait. The garlic pizza is also good

Big John's restaurant is pretty cool, the menu is huge and the meals are huge. The amibence is family orientated and it is great place to dine with family and friends.

i suppose a few of my favorite things about this business is that the location allows me to be able to grab a pizza and just stroll across to the beach/water and eat it. I also like the authentic taste of their pizzas and the serving sizes.
They do offer a variety of salads, pastas and meals but my ritual is the meat pizza and a gelato dessert which usually sets me back about $20 in total.

I love myself some Italian food and this is a place to definitely go to after a walk at the beach. Good location and friendly staff, however sometimes it is too friendly that it gets annoying. Nonetheless, food is great and price is what you would expect.

I've been here a couple of times and I have to say, this is my favourite place for Italian. It's not really top range food but it's still execellent and the value is absolutely unbeatable! They pride themselves on having large servings and they stick to that.

They do the best pizza here of anywhere I've tried in Sydney or the Illawarra. The pizzas are loaded with a lot more generous quantity of toppings than just about anywhere else and they are so good that we go right out of our way to go here. The place opens early (around 5) and fills up very quickly. It is deservedly very popular. They serve italian meals as well as pizzas which I haven't ordered, partly because the meals are so huge, but also because I am happy to share a pizza.
