If you want an affordable, convenient and value for money cafe experience, then Betty's Soup Kitchen will do you the job. They have a varied assortment of home-style soups, pastas and noodle dishes at suitable prices. I've been here a couple of times and I've just never gotten bored of their warm, obliging approach to cooking. The staff are friendly, the salad bar there is merely beautiful and there selection of drinks is divine. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a generous, hearty serving of freshly prepared soups and noodle dishes.

Betty's Soup Kitchen is great when you want a no-fuss affordable meal. It's nothing flash but the salad bar is great and the meals are hearty and generous for the price - will continue to go back!

Approximate cost: $6-10

A Darlinghurst favourite serving hearty soups which are most welcome in the colder months. They also have other dishes including a salad bar. Nothing flash, but it is a friendly, warm environment with friendly staff.

Approximate cost: $12.50

Great unpretentious, affordable, and friendly place selling good home style food. Nothing better than a hot bowl of creamy pumpkin soup with country style bread on a cold Sydney day. This place has been around forever and hopefully sticks around forever.

If you want a real down to earth place that actually serves food like what mum used to cook (e.g. bangers & mash etc), then look no further. They even deliver ($2.50 fee - local areas only) which is great for when you just can't be bothered but still want a good home cooked meal rather than fast takeaway (again). If you dine in, you'll really love the staff - they're all so nice!
