My husband took me to dinner at the Belvue as a special treat as he had heard it was really great food and it had just recently opened again - was great in its previous life. The room off the main dining area were our table was located was so cold I was shivering in my jacket and the waitress said the air conditioning could not be adjusted as it was set for the entire restaurant. The service was very slow and entrees took such a long time to arrive my husband was becoming agitated and wanted to leave. The food was OK when it arrived - not spectacular or up to a fine dining standard. The main course took forever and the waitress came over several times to enquire if we would like more drinks as the meal would be a little while yet - stated that there were problems with the power to the stove in the kitchen. When the main meal finally arrived it was very disappointing and we were offered a complimentary drink to try to make up for the time we had waited - all we wanted was our meal - not more drinks. This, so far, was the highlight of the night because after my husband went to the bar and paid and we were leaving the waitress stopped me in the midst of a croweded restaurant and demanded in a loud voice ' Have you paid your bill yet?' - so emabarrasing - will never go there again!
