A new, modern cafe, situated at the Western Plains Zoo visitor centre, but you dont have to enter the zoo to visit the cafe. We had lunch while visiting the zoo. Had chicken wraps, locally made pastries and a very nice cappuccino. Price was reasonable for an eatery attached to an attraction, such as the zoo, not grossly overcharging like theme parks, etc. seem to do.
Very pleasant surroundings, tables overlooking the lake, both indoors, with huge windows and outdoors You can watch monkeys and lemurs swinging in the trees etc. on the islands in the lake.
There was also a more formal sit-down section with fancier meals, mains seemed to be still reasonably priced between $14 & $19.
