Being a regular customer at another Indian restaurant my boyfriend and I decided to try somewhere new. Having heard great things about Anand Sagar we were enthusiastic about having dinner there. Upon arrival there were only three other tables occupied; we took a two seated table in the back near the TV. The atmosphere was authentic and beautiful, they had Indian music playing on the TV and decorations lining the restaurant. The only waitress working that night came over and half-heartedly asked if we wanted anything, we ordered our meals (which were pricier to the usual places we dine), and drank some complimentary water. When the meals came out we were extremely disappointed, the serving sizes were quite small and the quality average. Being Summer the room quickly became hot with our steaming meals and I noticed that the ceiling fans had only been turned on near the counter and kitchen, the ones above us and fellow diners were all off. I tried numerous times to get the waitresses attention but she remained oblivious and daydreaming at the front counter. Needless to say we were quick to finish our meals and leave, even joking about how we would tell our regular waitress at our old restaurant about the horrid dining experience.

it hasnt changed hands.. its just the owner doesnt cook the curries anymore and it is a new chef.. i used to love the past 2 chefs too but this one likes to change it and make it his own! i loved the old way too! :(

Interesting. Perhaps they have changed hands?

Beautiful food most of the time. The new chef just ads a bit too much of the spices sometimes. But than again i love my food with a tiny bit of spice or mild so im not a big spice fan. Great service and the owner is genuine and not just after your money. all up a beautiful and great place to eat. But it does get very busy with takeaways if you are sitting near the counter.

The food is traditional and mouth watering. The service is very placid and nice to be served by a family owned and run business. The food leaves you satisfied and wanting to come and visit again.

We've been getting take away regularly from Anand Sagar for sometime now and have found that their curries are truly very authentic and delicious. They also have a good range to choose from, we've tried most of the curries and they are all very good. Price is average but it's good value considering the quality.

Food is very good, especially naan bread. Yum yum. But I must admit service is very average. Take away - perfect. Dine in - don't do it. I have witnesses wait staff chewing gum, fixing their hair (!) and on one occasion I have seen the exact colour of one of the ladies' underwear showing above the slacks. So needless to say do not dine in, get take away because the food is very good.

Approximate cost: $20

We haven't dined in the restaurant but have often ordered Indian dishes for takeaway. Beautiful dishes and a wide range of choice. Dishes are a bit on the lean side for the price.
