I am in two minds with this cafe. They are in a shopping complex and are either really busy or dead quiet. There isn't a load of space so when it's busy it can feel a little stifling.
The coffee is nice enough and the breakfast egg meals are quite good, but everything else I found a bit average, like the service a bit sloppy, waitresses would walk by without acknowledging or making eye contact.
Personally I don't like it when they clear the table while your still sitting there, so that annoyed me, but that might just be me being a fuss pot.

We have been to Alta Vita a few times for lunch and for dinner. Their calamari is always amazing. Pastas and pizzas nice. They have a kids menu which is really good and food is generally quite fast so kids don't get impatient. I am happy to go back with and without our child.
It has a bit more of a cafe feel, but is closer to a restaurant than a cafe.

Always friendly & welcoming. The menu has good variety without being too long. And they are good to put up with small children! Great place to grab drink & snack - only negative is that it can be bit noisy.

I love coming here for lunch or dinner. Great choice of food and a lovely place to catch up with friends, overlooking the main street in Eltham. Definitely give it a go if you're in the neighbourhood.

Great for lunch. Lots of choice from a yummy sausage roll and salad to a hearty parma. Very professional unobtrusive service. Great for families. A regular spot for us.

Breakfast is amazing!!! Huge portion sizes though. Pretty good value for money. Most times i have been here i have made a reservation if it were dinner or lunch, but for coffee or cake you could walk in. Cakes and slices are delish!

Previously been to this cafe and had a good experience but recently visited this cafe at night. Staff were obviously trying to get us to leave and opened the door right next to our table so we had to put up with a cole breeze. Wasn't that late but we were asked to leave when we didn't appear to get the message. Staff not overly friendly. Hot chocolate nothing special. Bit disappointing but have bought a cake here which was really nice and quite good value. Cabinet of cakes looks quite enticing.

Alta Vita offers a fine dining experience with an ambient atmosphere or you can be seated in the cafe area. Their meals and cakes are delicious and their coffee is fantastic. A lovely place to go and relax over a meal with friends.
