Said the problem would cost $800 to fix (he diagnosed a faulty gas valve). I then got a second opinion and the actual problem (blocked tube preventing gas flow) was fixed in 5 minutes, and didn't cost a thing.
By independantly ringing around, I found the Gas Valve for $347 inc. GST, and was told it would take 15 minutes to install. ALLGAS quoted me $800.
I called ALLGAS to ask for my $170 call out fee back and was refused, and told I do not know what I am talking about.

Gas Valves on this unit are Double Block Soinoid for safety reasons to comply with AUSTRALIAN Gas Association And Energy Safe Australia
As this was an intermittent fault it was best to Quote for a new Gas valve to eliminate any on going call back.
For the safety and reliability.
Not knowing if your other service tech was a licensed person or not. We always Quote prices at a retail price plus labour with an itemised account.
As my service call was disclosed before I attended site. Once again Many for your comments.
