We managed to get discounted vouchers for dinner at Alfred's on eBay and so brought the family to try it out. It was a totally different experience from other restaurants. It is a quaint restaurant in a picturesque bush setting. Bill who communicated with us from the purchase of the vouchers to the actual welcoming on the dinner night, is very friendly and made us feel at home. The food was great and the entertainment is out of this world!

Loved the oysters and cocktails were very reasonably priced but it took a while to receive them.Dancing was great fun however, they really need to renovate the place and bring it from the 70's to the year 2015. I had those curtains 20 yrs. ago and the carpet and furniture is very dated.

I hate to say it but too me ~ a pleasant journey down memory lane ~ saying that ~ $55 gave me ~ entertainment great ( THE THREE TENORS) and soup, entree, main and desert, tea and cheese and biks!! Where else in outer Melb ~ $$ great value , went home ~ fat, entertained, mellow, and happy!! We will become regulars for sure ! Not for under 40's or the pretentious! It is what it is ! And does it WELL!! By the way ~ garden could be neater but ladies conveniences neat!! Must be doing something right !! Well done Alfred!!!

Love this place. Have only been once with my husband and we loved it. We're going back again with my sister and brother in law. The food was great. I am quite picky but was very satisfied with this place. I usually don't like floor shows, but this was really enjoyable. The owner is great, the service was very good and located in a nice setting. Simply good food and good value.

Great service and the meals can be quite nice, but some meals aren't too great though. The location is nice and picturesque

We were a large group of 12. We went on a Sunday. Although the decor was very 70 ish and a bit old fashioned the buffet lunch was really good. And the owner Bill was super friendly and helpful. This is a reasonably priced venue for a large group. And the drinks are pretty cheap too !!! We were very impressed with our visit.

My friends and me recently bought vouchers for $24 each for the All you can eat banquet including sea food and different home made deserts. This venue is more then 25 years old and conducts weddings and other events. I was impressed very much. Outside and inside it looks simply beautiful and elegant. Inside there is a fire, red carpets, dance floor. I think it can carry up to 100 people. We were welcomed by one of the owners named Bill. He was very kind and nice to us. Food was very delicious, healthy, lots of sea food and salads, meat, yummy soups, etc. I would say there were not much different dishes that you can't even try, it was the exact amount of food that YOU CAN TRY and this is enough. Band started playing at around 7.30pm. very nice. then the 2nd owner (they are two brothers) seems to be a famous opera singer was singing brilliant! Yeah, this is one of the places i have ever been in Melbourne. P.S. Their cocktails were perfect and cost very cheap $5 or $6))

My wife and I recently attended to celebrate the 70th b'day of a mate. The food (smorgasbord) was great, small band playing were friends of the birthday boy & played great music of the sixties, standards etc. The floorshow provided by the owner was also fantastic - he looked like a mini Pavarotti & actually sang like him. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite it being a hot afternoon

luckily we had discount tickets. We thought that the food was not great, one said it tasted like hospital food. The floorshow was just some man singing. We had been there years ago and was so expecting the same experience but was terribly disappointed. I suppose the old days never last. We are so glad we got it for half price. Unfortunately we will not be going back but still have fond memories of this place from the 90s

Approximate cost: $25
