1 review about Adelaide River Queen Cruises

Reviewing the Jumping Crocs River Cruise. First thing to note is that this cruise is not IN Adelaide River but elsewhere, approx 30 minutes out of Darwin on the Arnhem Hwy. Mistake was ours, but it is not entirely clear what suburb this company operate out of, so an honest mistake it was. Apparently we're not the first to make this mistake! Never-the-less we re-booked our cruise to fit in with our travels and it was SO worth the wait. There are two cruises that offer "jumping crocs" on the Adelaide River. We chose Adelaide River Queen as it is the "original". Our tour guide was excellent, he had nicknames for all the crocs. There was so many crocs to see, all wild and in their natural environment and in spite of the fact they are being fed "snacks" this could in be no way likened to a bear riding on a bicycle. I believe in animal ethics and do not feel this cruise is causing any harm to animals in any way. Cruise was fantastic, saw stacks of crocs, learned about how crocs live and also had a surprise falcon-feeding at the end which was pretty spectactular to see these prey-birds swooping for snacks around our boat. At $30 per head during the wet season I would recommend this tour to everyone. Guaranteed to see crocs in the wild, big crocs and up-close! Most enjoyable, I would definitely go back. Our guide was extremely knowledgable as I imagine you would be after so many years operating this cruise. But he was also friendly and entertaining. All good qualities enjoyed as a passenger.

Approximate cost: $30 per head in wet season
