Some friends told us about this cafe so my girlfriend and I decided to be a bit adventurous and give it a try.

Walking into this cafe you are succumbed by an amazing aroma of delicious spices. I couldn't wait to try something new. We decided to try the meat & veg mixed platter, it was perfect for us, just the right amount for us to try a bit of everything. It was $$22, and well worth it.

A great atmosphere, nicely decorated, delicious food and friendly helpful staff. I will say that the service was a bit slow, but it was very busy and well worth the wait.

What a great restaurant to try ethiopian food for the first time. It certainly wont be our last!

We found ordering a banquet was the best way to go as we really wanted to try nearly everything on the menu. The food was beautifully presented and tasted so fresh and delicious, so many different interesting flavours. It was a very enjoyable experience and we are definitely looking forward to returning. Certainly is a very different dining experience.

Service was a little slow, we didn't mind as we were just enjoying the experience. Will be returning.

The food at Addis Ababa Ethiopian restaurant is delicious, and the atmosphere is lovely too.

We had the Banquet for two, which was just so much food! The food arrives on a big round platter, with a huge injera underneath, and a side basket full of injera.

Injera is Ethiopian bread that's a little like a pancake - but a lot better. I wouldn't like to eat a pancake for dinner. Injera has a delicious, lemony taste. People say it is 'sour', but I find it sort of sweet and tart and sour. It is really light and easy to eat and compliments the food incredibly well.

The food! Lamb mince, and some beef with onions and capsicums (I think), and some delicious simple dahl - not too spicy and not undercooked- and all sorts of piles of deliciously spiced food, all spread out onto the banquet platter.

And the spiced tea is also fantastic. I ordered a cup and had to shield it from my boyfriend; he all of a sudden wanted tea too!

The service is a mixed bag, but our food arrived on time, everything was fresh and delicious, and the experience was on the whole really lovely.

I will definitely come again to this wonderful, casual restaurant.

Ps; you eat with your hands here, picking the delicious food up with the bread. It's a lot of fun and not at all messy. A great experience.

Have always loved Injera in Canada. Ordered the banquet meal for 3 . Unlimited Injera platter with spicy beef in centre, yummy lamb dishes with a good selection of tasty vegetarian helpings on top.The staff was amazing, that they gave the pop drinks free and charged less for my son. Can a Dining experience be better?

We stumbled on this place because they cater to vegans and vegetarians. However they do some great meat dishes too. Eating with your hands is a new experience and the bread fills you up. Fast, friendly service with a smile. They hold vegetarian nights once every six weeks. The place has a really good feel and is a nice spot for an intimate dinner.

Great food and genuine service! It's like eating in a little jungle hut in Africa. The decor is great and it's small and cosy ensuring you are not overlooked by the staff.

overall a great place to eat authentic Ethiopian cuisine. I love the fact that you have to eat with your hands, and they are more than welcome to inform new customers of their traditions.
the food is tasty and much like indian is spicey and flavoursome.
you have to byo alcohol and they only charge $2 corkage per bottle which is fantastic. if you want to bring beer you pay $3 i think and its per bottle of beer, so wine is more value for money. the atomosphere is great and the decor very african! it wasnt busy at all the last couple of times i've been and the menu itself is not very large but if you order a banquet you get refills of any dish at no extra charge! great little place :) highly recommend!

Oh! I didn't know that! We ordered the banquet but didn't order refills. Probably too full anyway. :-)

This restaurant is an experience. It is run by the same lady who also cooks, greets and serves. She is absolutely lovely. The food is fabulous, different which is nice and you get to eat with your hands too!

Great Ethiopian food in a relaxed African style cafe. Very well priced, great service, culture & food. When we discovered this cafe we made a point of visiting at least once a week, and taking all our friends there a few at a time. The cafe can also do banquets for maybe up to 20 people.

Approximate cost: $11
