Took a two hour drive today to New Norcia just for something to do. Had lunch at the New Norcia hotel. The building looks quite grand and nice, the bar area was pretty ok, you can dine indoors or al fresco, and there is also a dining room. we had a wagyu beef burger with chips and salad and steak sambo with chips and salad. Chips were very nice and crunchy, burger was pretty nice. Abbey Ale pleasant.

The absolute wow factor is the hotel itself - don't just limit yourself to the dining area, have a wander through the hotel itself, it's got the most gorgeous central staircase - what a gorgeous old building!

The alfresco dining area is lovely, the views are great, definitely the atmosphere is what you come here for.

Food is good, reasonable price given you're in the country side, service is ok, no issue there.

Worth a day trip from Perth if you've got the time - I'd love to come back here and stay in the hotel and experience more of the nearby monastery and historic attractions.
