Great value and really good food that is both authentic and interesting - not the stereotypicial mexican meal.
What we ordered:
Horchata ($3.8) - delicious cinnamon rice milk drink which is rarely offered at other places. It is just right in terms of flavour, level of creaminess and refreshing aspect
Papa Con Nopales ($8.5) - cactus and potato stew cooked with an Ancho chilli sauce. Served with two fragrant tortillas.
Pulpo Enamorado ($15) - very generous serving of octopus with salsa and a creamy dressing. The octopus was fresh, bouncy and flavoursome. The dressing was just right in in flavour with coriander, onions, and a hint of chilli in the tangy dressing. My favourite of the night
Pastel de Elote ($7.5) - perfect sweet ending. This was similar to a polenta cake with a mild honey dimension. It was served warm and fluffy with cream & strawberries.
Aside from the food, the waittresses and surrounding atmosphere was convivial, warm and relaxed.

Was here with a couple of friends for lunch yesterday. Compared to their dinner time, it actually was not crowded at all! The waitress that served us was really nice and attentive. Good knowledge on the food as well. However, it took a little too long for our food to be served despite a relatively empty restaurant. The food was rather good as well. Would definitely go back there again.

One of our favourite Mexican restaurants in Melbourne as it tastes very authentic here. Owned by Mexicans I assume and the staff appear to also be Mexican I assume also. We always stuff ourselves here and never have room to try desert either. The tequila list is mind boggling, but I love tequila so I just point at one on the menu randomly and we're good to go. I wouldn't even think about coming to this place without a booking as you may be dissappointed as they are usually packed. Enjoy!

Glad we made a booking the night we went as it was packed. Lovely food - the Alambres des Res were amazing. The tacos great but the Enchilladas were a little disappointing.

I believe this restaurant is good and owned by Mexicans; however, i don't like the food too much, i think some of their food is frozen and they unfreeze at the time of serving, it is just not as spectacular. I think it is just OK

The food here is amazing - it's not the usual Tex-Mex that Australians Mexican Restaurants have to offer. This has great food that doesn't rely so much on cheese, and has some unique dishes such as the Tacos al Pastor - grilled pork in soft corn tacos with pineapple, coriander, onions, tortillas and hot salsa! Delicious! One day I'll get around to trying their desserts - when I'm not so full from their mains!

Great food and service. Went here a few months ago and the food was fresh and exciting. Usually go to the chain mexican restaurants but this was more traditional food and felt more real. Will be back for more.

I love this restaurant, its one of my favourite in Melbourne. It has a great atmosphere, and is always busy. The interior is kitschy mexicana, and is really fun. The restaurant is run and owned by Mexican's, so the food is authentic, and absoloutely delicious. If you are not a fan of too much spice, they will cook your meal accordingly, everything is always wonderful. The service is friendly and professional, its always a pleasure to dine here. Highly reccommended.
