Chilli Joes is the best Thai food I know of. Don't worry about the decor, the food is excellent. Travel there if you have to, it will be worth it. I recommend the Penang Chicken, Green Curry Chicken, Red Curry Chicken and Beef Massaman.

was looking for this place aftr seeing a review on womo .. it's tucked away in the Campbelltown bowling club, but not too difficult to find, just follow the signs to the restaurant!=)but Joe, the owner, is really friendly & knows how to give his customers good service! my meal came out pretty quick for a quiet Thursday night ... just under 10 minutes. i loved the taste of the food, as well as the setting - I noticed the restaurant was quite family-friendly too, so if your family likes something a little more exotic, try here! there's a kids' menu of course :) the only disappointment was having to order rice with my beef green curry which pushed the bill from $12.90 to $15.4 - ... but for rice lovers, it's all-you-can-eat rice for the extra $2.5! the only thing that would keep me from going back is lack of lunch specials... if i were to keep going back, it'd be annoying to have to keep signing in as a temporary member of the bowling club to get in! [not sure how strict they are on that] otherwise a place well worth checking out, if you don't mind passing by a bunch of possibly intoxicated bowling club members to get in & out of the restaurant! [i'm old especially on Friday nights, they get bad]

We had dinner here last week as we'd heard great things and the owners had previously run a very successful small restaurant themselves. Although the food was tasty, the ambience of the 'bowling club' is a bit of a downer plus we had chosen the 'banquet' menu but we ended up being charged 'per item' which was a little disappointing as I would've chosen different dishes. For a pretty quiet Thursday night, the service was quite slow as well. There's definitely better thai restaurants in Campbelltown.

I had read so many great reviews about Chilli Joe's in the In Macarthur (lifestyle) Magazine that I eventually, after all these years, made my way to the Campbelltown City Bowling Club to check it out. We didn't really order anything I'd call traditional "Thai restaurant food" but what we did order we enjoyed.

The Crispy Prawns were yummy (and I don't really like prawns) but we weren't really fans of the sauce in the accompanying mixed vegies. The garlic pork was pretty good, though and the spring rolls tasty but rather small. You order your drinks from the club's bar so will need to sign into the club if you plan to leave the dining area to do this. This is easy enough as they have a self-sign-in book at the entrance to the restaurant.

The restaurant was fully booked (it was a Saturday night but very early so the tables were not yet filled) so I guess enough people know about Chilli Joe's and there were plenty of people coming in to collect takeaway.

The ambience of the Bowling Club is terrible so we plan in future to go the takeaway option ourselves (plus there's a 20% discount on takeaway at dinner time). The prices, even at full price, are very reasonable and the serves are decent. Plus, unlike most trendy Thai restaurants I've come across, there's a healthy amount and variety of vegetables in the dishes which I find important when eating out (especially as we have a young child).

We'll be returning to Chilli Joe's but wouldn't go out of our way to get there since there are so many restaurants with a similar menu much closer to our home.
