Could not care less

Over Easter I tried to get a cab - have used 13 Cabs for several years so did not expect a problem. They CANCELLED my ride without explanation. Fortunately a friend ordered me an Uber otherwise I would have been stranded. Contacted them to find out why they cancelled my ride. They claimed my bank rejected the card due to fraud. Only problem was I had 2 cards with different banks and using both still had failed. I pointed this out and suggested they check their software. Long story short, after 4 attempts they never ever replied to any of my requests so I cancelled my account. If they can't be bothered with me I can't be bothered with them!

Ghosted

You cannot expect to compete with rideshares companies when you never show up.

More than happy to take my money for a booking in advance, don't bother calling when you don't show up, and then it takes a formal complaint to get my refund.

Approximate cost: $150

Look all I'm saying is it's almost easier to make a phone call , than set up some account.
Well it definitely was tonight , straight to Macca's 40cent discount.

I have used 13 CABS for about six years now and over the past two years, since I have been disable I have been thankful to have them help me with my walker. I find them easy to get along with and I am happy with their driving skills - something that is so important If one has been a driver for 60 years and can be very nervous with some drivers I have experienced.
I would recommend them.

During our latest trip in Melbourne we used 13 CABS often. We found the drivers to be the most unfriendly people, I asked a question and he just grunted, I tried again and he just shock his head like he didn't understand english. As for another driver, well, talk about road rage, he was angry because another driver didn't give way so he decided to speed to catch up to the other driver, then passed him and slamemed on the brakes, We were lucky we didn't get whiplash! All of our trips via taxi (no less than 8) were terrible, no friendliness, no chit chat, dreadful drivers, no consideration for other drivers, it was like they ruled the road and everyone else just look out.

I've had so many mixed experiences using 13 CABS, it's really hard to give an overview. I haven't had any exceptional drivers in the past 12 months, and I get frustrated when occasionally driver's don't seem to understand what the major roads in Melbourne are. For example, I once called a cab for a fare from Oakleigh to St Kilda, and when I asked the driver to go up Dandenong Rd he asked me how to get there whilst we were on Warrigal. However, it must be a tough job and I'm sure that the customers vary in quality just as much as the drivers do. Considering it's a private service, and there are few alternatives (especially in the middle of the night), I at least feel grateful that I feel safe using them and don't have too much trouble getting one if I plan ahead

i too have had mixed experiences, & i also find it weird every now and then when drivers aren't familiar with major roads!

I left a nightclub saturday morning. Security advised me to take first cab which I did. I told cab driver where I was going and he rudely advised unable to take me to North West as too far! This would have been close to a $50 cab fare. I advised security this driver has issues with driving passengers to north west suburbs and I hope they keep his licence plate number. I took next cab in rank and he was only too pleased to drive me home, have a great conversation and I gave him a tip. Some cab drivers really need to smarten up their act if they are complaining over short fares and now fares that are too long and just do their job.

totally agree with you!! cab drivers do deserve respect but they also need to be polite to customer too in return right? i have come across some cab drivers who were lovely and pleasan

Yes taxi's should not expect perfect fares/distances every time, short/long etc. you take what comes along just like most jobs.

calling is horrible, have tried online and have used this twice, first time was great and the cab arrived on time but the second time around the cab didn't show up, so it's a hit and miss

We've used them many times to travel between the eastern suburbs and Melbourne airport. Over the past year especially the experience has been hair-raising and unpleasant. The cab drivers have often driven recklessly and over the speed limit. They have GPSs but don't know the way and drive in the opposite direction unless you stop them. The latest arrived with a car boot half full of his spare tyre with hardly any space for luggage despite our pre-booking specification that we were going to the airport. He was argumentative and unhelpful, drove like a maniac, tailgating and speeding all the way. Many of their drivers seem to be from some other part of the world with no respect for Australian road rules. They shouldn't be licenced to drive, let alone carry passengers. If anyone knows of a cab company which sends out safe drivers that follow road rules, please let me know. We really need to find another cab company that will take us to the airport without risking our necks.

My partner and I booked a maxi taxi for our engagement party. We phoned at 2 p.m to have the taxi arrive at 6 p.m. At 6.30 p. m a taxi arrived but it was a regular taxi. We attempted to get in with our balloons (the reason we needed a maxi) but the driver refused and told us he would call a maxi taxi for us who would arrive in 5 minutes. I protested but decided to go along with it because our balloons were getting ruined. An hour later no Maxi Taxi had arrived and so my partner phoned the company. The girl he spoke to said that it wasn't her problem because we did not book the second cab through their company. My partner then sighed as we were running extremely late and the girl said that she did not appreciate being huffed and puffed at, at which point she continued to threaten to cancel any cabs that were coming to our house and said she would not assist us. My partner was confused and attempted to explain the situation, however, after she repeatedly explained that she was canceling the cabs we hung up and phoned a friend.
