I love the Marlo pub; it has the best view of the inlets and beachs of Marlo. It has Pool tables, which's important to me. The meals & service are pretty normal, but the pool room has a lovely view and is usually empty. It's where I'd go to drink and relax.

We love this pub(for their meals) and we eat there all the time. It is very hard to find good Chinese food (in my opinion) when you come from the NT and there are hundreds of beautiful, traditional Chinese meals. We lived in Brissy and only found a couple of really good ones, so when we moved to this small countrytown, we thought we'd never eat it again, but this pub has one great chef. The meals are very reasonbly priced and sooooo yummy!

The Commonwealth Hotel is an old pub ran by the same family for years and years. They have fairly priced and good meals. I haven't gone drinking there as I have a child, but it always looks busy in the public bar area.

This place has yummy home made pizza and even better ice-cream, but it's sometimes hard to find them open. They also wouldn't deliver to me and I'm 5k's away:-( But the food is great:-)

I found a second-hand toddler-bike, with handle, which costs anywhere from $80-$150 and I got it for $10! It shows what a great community Orbost is for giving generously & supporting the local Op-Shop:-)

For a small country town, this is a really big and fully stocked store for all your crafting needs, I like to scrapbook and found some of that in there too. It's a really sweet little shop, I like it a lot. Artsy people will too.

These ladies are so nice and make you feel very welcome. I was mostly surprised by the price as I had eyes, eyebrows, foils, treatment and cut all for $190 when only a couple of months earlier I had exactly the same stuff done in Melbourne for $240!!!! Grrrrrr Shop Locally People!!

The Snowy River Cafe has a big variety of foods (for a small town cafe) and has a lot of healthy quiches, salads etc on their menu. This is good, as a lot of the take-aways in Orbost are Fast-Food only.

These are the most beautiful cabins I've ever seen & the owner made them all, and the landscaping himself! There are chooks, emus, ducks etc for the kids. It's a five start retreat, each room has it's own Spa! So beautiful - definately worth saving up for the trip.

I had a good experience with Merlin's. Sometimes I worry that a mechanic may try to rip me off cause I'm a girl, but this is a family run business in a small town so they can't afford to do things like that, and they don't! Great.
