Mambo Greek Style Cafe........
The place smells divine as they are usually always making their products just in the back kitchen. Everything is fresh made and tastes fantastic. To top it off, the coffee is *bloody* good, and the guys who work there are always smiling and cheerful!!
The array of different foods, both Greek and usual cafe fare, is large, fresh, and tasty.
My partner always used to go there and told me about it quite a few times, but this was the first time I went there with her. And it will not be the last. Any time we are in Cleveland, we'll be going back for sure!!

We had 1 beer $5.50, Duck Spring Rolls $13.50, beef salad $21.50, Soft shell crab with sweet chilli $25.50, fried rice with chicken $15.50, sticky rice with custard for dessert $7.00, and a bottle of Peter Lehmann Shiraz $30.00.

Disappointed in the soft shell crab, it was very greasy and all that could be tasted was oil and sweet chilli.
The beef salad was great, as was the sticky rice with custard. The fried rice was *way* overpriced for the portion we got.

Service was good, but with an all up cost of $118.50 for two...... next time I'll just get Thai takeaway down the road.

Approximate cost: $25

We decided to try their half price dinner menu. The 'fresh' tuna sashimi could have been a little fresher but other than that the rest of dinner was OK.

http://georgesparagonseafood.com/DinnerMenu.pdf

We had Spanakopita, Tuna Sashimi, Garlic prawns entree, the Jewfish, and the Kanoni. We also had a bottle of Rymill Coonawarra Shiraz.

All up cost was $95.15, which was quite reasonable for the meal and drinks we had. If I had paid full price, I would have been most upset!!

We would go back if we're ever down that way again, but won't specifically go there off the bat.

Approximate cost: $20

Decided to drop in for lunch on a cold wet day. The food is good, very tasty. We had Butter chicken and Chicken Korma. Asked for two garlic Naan thinking that they would be the ones done in the tandoor oven. Not so. Plain naan sprinkled with garlic powder and cooked in a frypan. Still tasted OK, but not as good as the real thing. Curries came in two small balti pans, with a small serving of tumeric/saffron rice. Luckily, we're not big eaters. If you are, you'll be disappointed in the serving size.
Also had two complimentary poppadom's before the meal.

The place is a bit of a fire hazard with light, brightly coloured sarongs hanging from the ceiling creating booths, and we both commented that the place smelt musty...... it may have just been all the rain around.

Quite expensive lunch for the size..... $43 for 2 naan's and 2 curries. Especially when they had the same curries on their lunch special board. But we were quickly informed that the lunch 'specials' were only for take aways..... not that it mentioned it anywhere on the board. It felt like they wanted to extract top dollar out of us rather than have two people come in and sit down and have two lunch specials at $7.95 each.

I'd go back again......... but only for the take aways.

Approximate cost: $43 for two

Big Fish Tavern........ the best thing they have on is an all you can eat salad and hot vege bar, any night except Sunday. The salad dressing is absolutely *great*!!!

We never paid for any food all weekend, but if I had to, I wouldn't. Food was good, but not great, especially for their prices.

Sunday nights is the best deal. 300g eye fillet for $15.90.... usually $25.90. Good meat. Great sauces.

Drinks?? Don't buy them at the bar. *Very* expensive. $6-7 per stubby. $14 for a stubby and gin and tonic. $9 for a can of Bundy cola.

Buying drinks from the drive-through/liquor barn to take back to the M1 Motel rooms is fraught with pitfalls and rip-offs. Seems the whole place is trying to get as much money out of you as they can.

Bought 2 bottles of wine (on special for $11.99) and a 6-pak of Coopers Clear. Was charge $49.95.

Went back and fronted the drive-through guy, he was ‘surprised' he'd made a mistake. Till he checked the till and tape. Did a *lot* of double talking and finally slung a $5 bill across the counter at me. I was still short, but it was late at night, I was tired, so I let it slide as part of the lesson learned.

Would I recommend either place? No. Only if you *really* need to stop.

Spoke to a couple of locals that were staying with us, and they give the place a wide berth, and they only live just up the road!!

That speaks volumes.

M1 Motel.... supposed to be new, it's old.

Old carpets, old rooms, old cupboards. Most cupboards have a really obvious musty smell.

No power points available in the rooms. What there are is right down on the skirting board behind a big heavy unit with the TV on it. The only place you can plug a phone recharger in, is in the bathroom.

Beds are *horrendously* uncomfortable. All who stayed the weekend had something to say about the beds and pillows. The pillows are crap.
Several front doors have glass panels with black tape across most of the window so people can't see in. On most, people (obviously) have peeled/torn the tape so that there are gaps.

Air con, gets cold, but fan settings don't work.

Crappy little dvd player, free movies that are all rip-offs and constantly freeze.

We stayed for 3 nights. I thought we were supposed to get clean towels as needed..... but I was mistaken. I rubbed cream on my legs after a shower on the 1st night, and on the morning of 2nd day I had a shower just before the rooms were made up and noticed that the cream hadn't washed off in the shower and the towel had a pale cream mark. Not to worry, I thought, as I threw the wet towel on the floor so that it would be changed. That night I had a shower and noticed when I dried myself, there was a pale cream mark on the towel. I finished drying and threw the towel on the floor *again* to be changed in the morning. Came back later that afternoon (late) and went to have a shower. Took the first towel off the “clean” rack of 4 towels, and started to dry myself when I noticed the very same pale cream marks on the towel.
As for making up the room, they had pulled the covers up, but not changed the sheets.
$50 fine if you leave the air-con on during the day, even though the rooms gets as hot as hell.
It's next door to the Big Fish Tavern, local hangout for lots of people with those stupid bikes that sound like bloody trucks with no exhausts, and people who drive cars at great speed to make the tyres smoke.

Breakfast, adequate. If a tad expensive.

Had Dr's appointments across the road, so ducked on over for lunch. Didn't have any cash on us to pay for the meal so asked if we could run a Tab. Not a problem. Leave your credit card behind the counter, and meals and drinks are ordered. We had the lunch time special, rump steak, chips and salad. The steak was good, and cooked exactly how we wanted them. Meals were quick to the table, and the staff were friendly. The air-con was broken, and when we went into the main bar the lady behind the counter (manager/owner I think) directed us into the gaming room as we were quite warm, and that was the only room with air-con. We were told, go in, sit down, enjoy the cool, no need to use the machines. Quite nice, I thought!!

This review is for Cora's Crepes And Coffee, South Brisbane QLD

I had an appointment in the specialist center, and as we'd missed breakfast, we decided to have something at Cora's which is basically at the front door of the building. There were 14 people seated (this was 10.15am) and most already had their food & drinks. We ordered the two breakfast 'specials' of a crepe and coffee for $8.50 each. One was ham, the other bacon. We then sat down in the chairs which my wife (being only 5'5") said were even too small for her and she felt like she had her knees in her face. I'm 6'2"... so you can imagine what they were like for me. So we waited, and we waited, and we waited. They seemed to be more intent on serving their 'walk through' customers, than those who were seated. Our buzzer finally went off at 10.40am. 25 mins for 2 crepes and a coffee and a tea, we thought "OK, these are going to be good!!"...... how disappointed we were. There were a couple of salad leaves and a 1/2 slice (yes, 1/2, not even a full slice!!) of tomato on the side with a solitary slice of cucumber that was the size of a 5c piece. The crepes, mine especially(the bacon), looked completely flat. Folded over, but flat. I opened it up to reveal a very thin, very finely diced layer, spread *very* sparsely over the inside of the crepe. There was supposed to be bacon, mushroom, scrambled egg, cheese, and shallots in there. There was, sorta-kinda. The only flavour I got, and the same for my wife, was a salty tang from what looked like the same bacon/ham used on both. Same finely diced meat, same colour, same flavour. We ate our crepes and as we were now running *very* close to my appointment time, we unfolded ourselves from the chairs and left. Thankfully, the coffee and tea had taken the hunger pangs away, as the crepes certainly didn't do it. I would liken them to a salty wafer biscuit.... no body or sustenance. And for $17 for the two of us, it was a total rip off. Next time we want food during a Dr's appointment there, we'll go next door to Subway, or to the Coffee Club 3 doors down.

Here are some pics.

The only saving grace was the coffee.

Will we eat there again? NO WAY!!!!

I will get a takeaway coffee from there though, as the service for them is speedy, and the coffee is good.

Approximate cost: $8.50
